Hopefully yours doesn’t get worse! Just document the heck out of the date and odometer reading when you make your changes so you can give it to Ford if it does get worse.Yeah I was wondering why you had all those photos, haha. But yeah, that's kind of my philosophy on it. If she blows, she blows. The tick is normal, and so is some oil consumption. Ford's spec is anything more than a quart in 3000 miles it would seem, going by how they treated the F150. But at the same time they say that on the 5.2 Voodoo 1qt in 1000 miles is normal, lol. High revving motors do tend to use more oil, that's just a given. And the coyote still revs pretty high. But in your case if you're using a quart by 2,000 miles that seems a little excessive, so they might give you a new shortblock.
I'll wait and see on my car, I had literally no loss at all for the first 1000 miles but I was pretty gentle to it, from 1-2000 the car saw a lot more high RPM action, so to me using half a quart in that time frame is pretty reasonable. But we'll see if it persists, reduces as the break-in finishes, or gets worse.
Yeah had mine stayed on “pattern” I wouldn’t have been concerned. But I’ve conditioned myself to check it every two weeks or so. So when I pulled the stick last weekend I did a legit double take when it was low; like damn really?! Already?!
