Yeah I was wondering why you had all those photos, haha. But yeah, that's kind of my philosophy on it. If she blows, she blows. The tick is normal, and so is some oil consumption. Ford's spec is anything more than a quart in 3000 miles it would seem, going by how they treated the F150. But at the same time they say that on the 5.2 Voodoo 1qt in 1000 miles is normal, lol. High revving motors do tend to use more oil, that's just a given. And the coyote still revs pretty high. But in your case if you're using a quart by 2,000 miles that seems a little excessive, so they might give you a new shortblock.

I'll wait and see on my car, I had literally no loss at all for the first 1000 miles but I was pretty gentle to it, from 1-2000 the car saw a lot more high RPM action, so to me using half a quart in that time frame is pretty reasonable. But we'll see if it persists, reduces as the break-in finishes, or gets worse.
Hopefully yours doesn’t get worse! Just document the heck out of the date and odometer reading when you make your changes so you can give it to Ford if it does get worse.

Yeah had mine stayed on “pattern” I wouldn’t have been concerned. But I’ve conditioned myself to check it every two weeks or so. So when I pulled the stick last weekend I did a legit double take when it was low; like damn really?! Already?!

As long as it stays about this level I don't care really, since I don't have the tick. But yeah, in your case that's pretty thirsty. Do you smell oil when you get on it?

Nope no smells or leaks at all. Runs like a scalded dog.

I empty the catch can and usually get maybe half an ounce?

Been meaning to ask this since I first heard about the BBQ tick. I presume that is in reference to a BBQ grills electric starter that ignites the propane?
Yep ... Ford calls it the "Typewriter Tick". Imaging a monkey randomly pounding on a typewriter once and awhile using only his index fingers, lol. Google 'Ford SSM 7718'.

Do either of you guys have the BBQ tick? My car doesn't. Doesn't seem to consume much if any oil unless I'm playing around the 7,000RPM mark, since I didn't start doing that until I'd gotten past 1000 miles.
no... or should i say.. not yet? ;)

ordered a pair of ford performance strut mounts since my pedders "heavy duty" driver side mount is already shot after 10k miles. also picked up some steeda lateral links with extended ball joints to improve my steering since i'm lowered. i'll probably have one of my techs do the strut mounts and i'll pop in the lateral links myself in my garage since they seem easy

How is the K member brace?

I have a Steeda brace in my garage but every time I put it on it makes a groaning noise while driving.

Any noises? Feel better?

Since my car has an auto I did have to put 3/8 hose around the transmission lines because they were touching. Once I did that there are no noises at all. The car feels rock solid and I couldn't be happier!
I went through and torqued everything to spec and triple checked it, my experience is that if there are popping noises there are loose fasteners.

I checked the UPR catch can for the first time. Pretty sure its been less than 1000 miles with it on. Not too much, but still better than going through the intake.

Nothing too serious... installed some gently used Ford Performance Track shocks that I bought from a member here. I couldn't live with the bounce and unsettled feeling in the rear that this car has. Drove it down some fairly rough roads on my way to work and I have to say these shocks are what should have come on the PP1 cars from the factory. The bounce is all but gone and the front and rear have a similar feel when impacting imperfections in the road. A much more balanced feeling front to rear. Whereas before I felt like the back was being tossed up and down instead of absorbing the impacts.

So you have a PP1 and just replaced the rear to FP track shocks? I also have a PP1 and thinking of doing the same when I lower the car with BMR min drop springs. I was think about replacing all 4 but if just the rear shocks made a difference I might go that route.
