I sold a low mileage 14 TrackPak that I had modified the supension and wheels and tires to 14 GT500's. It was a nice car but certainly not my DD. The car was a beast and with the tune it could carve corners with almost anything on the road, but to drive it around town and on poor roads...well, lets just say it wasn't much fun or comfortable.
I've drag raced NHRA for over 40 years and most of time used automatics, even when people told me I was crazy...but my 0-60' and 1/4 mile time slips were pretty impressive. I'm in my 70's now and have had my share of 4/5/6spds, and just get tired of shifting, especially in the stop and go traffic. My 19 PP1 suits me just fine, but again it's not my DD. It's bone stock and has turned high 11's at 116mph in the quarter, which is 2 seconds slower than my 70 Maverick full on race car, and the ride is just perfect. I've put the winter tires on because the Michelin Sports just don't do well in the cold and wet, but the Michelin 3's do, and changed to 265's in front and 285's in the rear.
My advise, if you're young, get the stick, although the trans leaves a lot to be desired, and the PP2 if you like the look of the bigger wheels and tires, it's your money and your dream, just stop talking about it and do it!

The thing here is that you can choose to either match the PP2's wheel/tire look "exactly" or come up with a combination that's close but slightly "milder" (such as 19x10 with 275 or 285 wide tires on all four corners).

On the MT vs AT issue, you're getting great support from your wife, and that's a wonderful thing to have.

On missing the shifting / not enjoying the AT as much as you initially expected, I understand completely. Automatics have become very, very good at what they can do, but sometimes even as good as they've gotten that still doesn't mesh with what an individual driver is looking for. And because there's a lot of subjectiveness involved, it's hard to convey exactly why having the potentially superior performance isn't enough or how it can end up being less satisfying overall.

Well said! I totally agree

I ended up going with a brand new 19 Mustang GT PP1. It was one of the last ones left on the lot and they wanted to get rid of it so I got a good deal. I'm soooo happy to be back in a 6 speed!!! Lovin it! Thank you all for your suggestions and your support!! My wife said this better be the last damn car you ever get! lol! I have already put on the PP2 splitter and some spacers all around so it sits pretty. Just need to lower it now. I know its not an offical PP2 but I am very happy with what I have. I don't drag race or track my car so I felt the PP1 for the street would work just fine. Thank you all again. Stay safe!!

The one thing the A10 doesn't really do, is downshift correctly unless you put it in "real" Sport Mode and use the paddle shifters, if you just drive it normally in Sport Mode it'll downshift and kind of like matches RPM just before it shifts...sometimes this doesn't coincide with the way I drive...so I very seldom drive in sport. For that, the 6 speed is light years better.

Congrats on the good deal on your splitter. Hmm well the way I put it on is first putting on VHB double sided tape on the splitter itself then I placed it under the existing splitter. After that I screwed in about 10 screws with washers into the existing wholes the new splitter had. You may need someone else to help you line up the splitter and for support etc etc. But really with the heavy duty double sided tape and screws you should be good. That sucker is on there. I'm no expert but that's just the way I did mine.

You can get much nicer wheels and better tires for much cheaper than the added expense over the PP1.

I think it's just the fat tires that do it for me. But honestly I would be just fine with a PP1

Hey guys I just wondering how much a used 2018 Mustang GT PP2 is going for these days. I currently own a 2018 Mustang GT (10R80). This 10 speed is very fast. The technology in automatics these days is very impressive. But I do find myself missing my 16 GT stick shift more and more. I am not enjoying the auto as much as I thought I would. So after talking with the wife (lol) she agreed I should get back into a stick shift. I am looking for a used PP2. (they are hard to find) but I'm just curious how much they are going for. I'm assuming for a used18 PP2 it would be about 30kish. Give or take. I also thought about leasing a brand new PP2. I don't know. I hate being a car guy, I'm never satisfied with what I have. Anyone else out there missing the stick shift vs the Auto?
damn just sold my 19 Bullitt today 900 miles i hate the manual I traded it for a 19 Hellcat .i also Have a 18 A10 PP 1 i love that car ..that ones the keeper ..good luck in your search !!!

you can't leas a pp1 and definitely not a pp2 for any less than what the car actually costs to own monthly. Ford only leases if some one really wants to. they don't actually lease these cars. Happy you got back a manual. And in regards to missing a stick. No I don't because I got a fully loaded 18 with a manual and magneride. highly modified. Nothing to miss. lol.

Congrats on the PP1. Sorry I am late to the party but I figured I would at least chime in.

I do have a PP2. Love it. Magnaride and lower stance is great. I purchased a set of winter wheels and tires. Those summers did not behave under 50 deg. Besides, with rear wheel drive, I would rather a set of winter tires for the snow. Although all seasons help, they are no match when compared to a winter set. I saw comparisons where AWD on all season lost to a FWD with winters. You can fond many reports like that.

As for a PP2 beating a PP1 auto, they can https://www.cars.com/articles/mustang-vs-mustang-fords-performance-packages-tested-1420700897178/
In the end , who really cares. The Mustang in all of its forms are fun.

I preferred the extra space with the slightly different wheel liners to accommodate the 305 up front. Also, with 305 all around, they handle superbly. Not a big fan of staggered (Fr255/ Rr275).

I also love the theater - guys who are Mustang fans recognize that mine is a PP2 and want to chat about it.

IF you fully equip a PP1, the price difference gets very close. The price of the rims and tires (which are easy to sell - see classifieds) easily is worth the price difference.

Also, with a new car, you break it in instead of getting someone else's abused leftovers. To me, they are selling it for a reason, especially when it has few miles nor little time.

Glad you went with a new car. Enjoy it. I know there are some complaints about the gearing being too tall but having the PP2 changes the gearing so the rear instead of being a 3.73, it s a 3.94 which helps a bit. The tires height is smaller.

As for the tramlining, the winters (Blizzak LM-32 275/35/R19) have NEVER trammed. The Cup 2, occasionally. For me on Long Island, it was rare.

Here is my baby with winter boots on a set of VMR M710 19 x 9.5 (almost square Fr: ET22, Rr:ET45) wheels:

Don't let them talk you out of it. You won't regret it one bit.

Personally, I don't think I could be nearly as happy in a base. I don't need whipple power, and I don't Track a lot. I'd at least have to have a PP1 if nothing else for the brakes. IMO, Magneride is worth every penny. At that point (PP1 plus Magneride), unless you just don't like the look of the PP2, and I know there's some that don't like that much poke, to me it's a no brainer to spend the little bit extra for the wheels, spoilers (I'm not a fan of the PP1 spoiler), and other little goodies (including free cloth Recaros for most MY18's). I sold my SC2's for $800, so it cost me $400 to swap them out for a little more streetable tire. And, everything is factory stock.
What tire sizes did you go with? I want to replace my SC2's and was considering a taller rear tire.
