To answer your title question, yes, I am. I've been driving solely automatics for the past eight years or so, and no matter how good and comfortable they might be, there are certain subtleties that keep annoying me. I miss driving a good manual. Which is why I ordered my Mustang with a manual gearbox. So this summer (sigh... long waiting times in Europe) I'll be back to stick. I can hardly wait.

Don't let them talk you out of it. You won't regret it one bit.

My only reasoning for posting was that he stated he liked the stance of a PP2. For the cost savings of a manual GT like he wants he can make the stance like the PP2 and be money ahead at the same. If track performance was a concern then no doubt the PP2 should be the top of the list

Personally, I don't think I could be nearly as happy in a base. I don't need whipple power, and I don't Track a lot. I'd at least have to have a PP1 if nothing else for the brakes. IMO, Magneride is worth every penny. At that point (PP1 plus Magneride), unless you just don't like the look of the PP2, and I know there's some that don't like that much poke, to me it's a no brainer to spend the little bit extra for the wheels, spoilers (I'm not a fan of the PP1 spoiler), and other little goodies (including free cloth Recaros for most MY18's). I sold my SC2's for $800, so it cost me $400 to swap them out for a little more streetable tire. And, everything is factory stock.

Since there so few PP2 owners chiming in, I will throw my hat in the ring...
Is the PP2 as fast as an 10 speed auto? No.
Is it hard to drive out in about because of the 305's all around? Yes.
Is it at all a DD? No.
Is it a good start for a track car? Yes.
I don't DD my car, and I haven't tracked her.. yet. But this car is an absolute blast to drive on twisty roads. She corners literally like she is on rails. And it is an absolute hoot to be so involved in the driving experience. I happily drive with both hands on the wheels, giggle every time I downshift and hear the rev-match, and throughly enjoy the raw experience. Did I mention that I am the only one of 2 cars in the region that has a PP2. Yes, it is a special experience indeed.
Next month, Tail of the Dragon!

Instead of a Pp2 have you considered a used GT350 ? The GT500s plus the updated to the 19/20 350s has left it a buyer’s market for the 16-17s, I was considering buying this one myself lol

Yes I have considered a used GT350. That would be sweet. But they are still on the pricey side for me. I know the PP2 is just as pricey but I figured it was more reasonable. But then again, a used GT350 is never a bad idea

Totally agree! I know these new automatics are faster hands down. But I don't race often and there is nothing like banging your own gears. Love it

Not to dissuade you, but those tires are not the most daily driver friendly. They are race oriented summer ultra high performance tires, and while they can be driven just fine on the street in the summer, there is a fair bit of tram-lining and of course the 180 treadwear rating, you are looking at replacing them by 20,000 miles (a full set of 4 is almost 2 grand installed!). I'd definitely recommend a secondary set of Ps4s tires if you do intend on just driving it normally on the street.

A PP1 one is more than enough for the street and even 90% of track days (unless you are in a competitive environment, of course you'd want the PP2). Again, not trying to talk you out of it, and i am not sure what your overall plans are, but i went through this same decision in the past, and am so happy i went with a PP1 over a PP2 for this reason alone.
PP1 suspension is way too soft for HPDE and the front tires too small also
I believe that the PP2 has basically the same suspension. on my 17 GTPP1, once I changed the suspension to the Ford performance track package and went with a square, 285/35/19 tires, the car started to feel like a track car.
Obviously, I then had to change the seat to a racing seat and a 5 pts harness because I was moving around the interior way too much to be able to drive well and to feel the feedback from the car

Hey guys I just wondering how much a used 2018 Mustang GT PP2 is going for these days. I currently own a 2018 Mustang GT (10R80). This 10 speed is very fast. The technology in automatics these days is very impressive. But I do find myself missing my 16 GT stick shift more and more. I am not enjoying the auto as much as I thought I would. So after talking with the wife (lol) she agreed I should get back into a stick shift. I am looking for a used PP2. (they are hard to find) but I'm just curious how much they are going for. I'm assuming for a used18 PP2 it would be about 30kish. Give or take. I also thought about leasing a brand new PP2. I don't know. I hate being a car guy, I'm never satisfied with what I have. Anyone else out there missing the stick shift vs the Auto?
how about a used orange 2019

I recently got a new fully optioned 401A pp2 2019 , on auto trader there are several more new 2019 with 301A which you could probably get for 36 or 37 new.

The PP1 for even less.

below is one I almost purchased ..I just wanted the 401 A a lot more.

squid678...Great description of the PP2 and driving experience...agree 100%.
I absolutely love mine. It's been sitting in the garage since early November and I cannot wait to take it out again.

Enjoy Tail of the Dragon...
A buddy of mine in Colorado Springs taking his Harley to Tail of the Dragon for his 50th in August. He invited me to meet him back there with the PP2.
Very tempting, but It's a long drive from Central Oregon....
