I was not trying to help myself, I was telling BlueDevil about his crappy 11.6 time. try to keep up
You keep up. Its 9.9 and Im wondering why a guy like you. That's never run anything. Would take a shot at a 9 second run??? You've been laying in the weeds for a while now roy. Glad you finally came out and showed your true colors.

For those of you trying to play down the GT500's credibility by saying this is the top of the line Mustang vs. an entry level Corvette, try to remember one important fact. The GT500 is built on the same base structure as your run of the mill EcoBoost. In other words, it has quite a humble begining. Some key points to take into consideration that reflect these humble beginnings are:

1.) Curb weight: There's a reason why the Mustang weighs more than two tons. It's not a dedicated sports car nor does it sell high enough volume for Ford to warrant building it from an aluminum structure like the F-150.

2.) The Mustang IS NOT a sports car! It is a muscle car with far larger dimensions, higher center of gravity, and a rear seat.

3.) The Mustang was not designed from a clean sheet of paper, unlike the Corvette. This current generation follows the same heritage of the original model. In other words, it has a big V8 sitting directly over the front axle. This puts it at an inherent disadvantage.

Simply stated, for the GT500 to lay down performance numbers/lap times anywhere close to a mid engined, two seated, aluminum structured, low slung, carbon composite bodied, lightweight supercar is saying something. For the GT500 to actually beat it speaks volumes.

Really, any joker can take an car with an automatic and get a good time. Just practice for a couple of days, big deal. 1/4 mile runs ain't shit. It is a road course with a manual shows how good someone is.

I, too, used to think 1/4 mile runs were easy. Until I started racing. On a real track. With lights and timers and stuff. It’s amazing how many ways there are to screw up a run.

I skipped most the B.S in this thread. But anyway..... one thing is certain. You won't find another car over 4k lbs that can do what this thing is doing around a race track. From that perspective it's pretty impressive.

It's always easy to sit behind a computer like roy is doing and type about it. But he's gonna bust out some road course videos of him tearing up the track to make up for it.

Agreed. Heck, it’s impressive even for a much lighter car - especially considering it beats a much lighter mid engine corvette! It’s like magic on wheels.

Ok, that may have over sold it, but dang. Couldn’t ask for more.

Well actually,
More displacement, twin turbos, all wheel drive, electric assist... but hey, this is plenty. A Mustang is a supercar now? Wow.

And yet, both GT500's are worlds faster from a roll...I mean, not even in the same league. At the dragstrip, I'm sorry..the c8 vette is toast. That mid engine configuration is a huge advantage on the street. At the strip...it's quickly erased with a little bit of rubber and VHT.

Also, the 1.XX second difference is on a 2 minute track...not 3. And again, that is a effing huge difference....sorry. Quit trying to make it sound like it's close.

And yet another poster saying...just wait for the big brother Z06 or ZL1 to show up.
But in the end it's still an awesome achievement that a slighty under 500 hp RWD car can do the 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Not even Chevy fans were sure if this statement from GM was just a marketing stunt. Of course above 60mph the pure horsepower difference will make the C8 look bad again c7 Z06, ZL1 or GT500. But in the end the C8 did the quarter mile faster than GT500 and GT500 CFTP and that is really impressive, since quarter mile is clearly to most important drag race number for a lot of people.

In the end I am not a big fan of buying a car because racetrack driver x can achieve a great time - I would not be able to drive anything close to that limit of the car honestly. But for accelerating after a red light, C8 will be a lot of fun and even putting some electric cars to shame. If I think about driving on the Autobahn, pure horsepower is of course the better choice. On a racetrack as an amateur, the C8 will propably be way easier to drive fast.

In the end it's a great time be allive for us car fans. ZL1 1LE, GT500, C8 - If I had the money, I would take all three. Too bad importing them to Germany in insanely expensive (these cars cost about $110k here)

Of course people will say let's see what the Z06 will do, because having an american 700hp midengine car that can beat up exotic cars will be awesome to see.

What? Does none recall the GT350 and GT350R being compared against the ZL1...for the past several years?
Did not make that correct either.

TLDR.

Anyway, I banged a girl with fake bewbs for the first time. As I suspected, fake ones are not my thing.

Nice. This is what we should be talking about.

I'm not into big boobs at all, but big, regular or small, they need to be real. That being said, we have a good friend with massive ones, fake, she's constantly whipping them out, rubbing them on people, it's pretty fun.

The engine is the coyote at heart. I believe they said coyote based in the article but regardless its a bored out coyote block with a blower on it. It only has the "Predator" name designation because it has enough differences.
Kinda like the same way an LS or LX Gm engine is just like a 265 cid engine from '55, except for a few minor differences. Like the way a Terminator engine is the same as a Crown Vic 4.6, again with a few minor differences. I run into this often with my 5.0 Road Runner in the Boss 302. It was so named because it was more powerful than a Coyote at the time. Coyote is a Coyote, Predator is a Predator.

LS engines are more like a 60s small block Ford, but I get your point.

I think it all comes down to this. Nobody saw this coming! Nobody predicted that the GT500 Base would beat the mid-engine Corvette around a track in a MT H2H comparison. Yes the 500 had a huge hp advantage which directly led to the victory the very same way the ZL1 beat the GT350R in that H2H showdown. The thing I look at is here we have a Mustang for approximately 75k which out ran the new Vette at a track, has run 10:60s @ 133 mph at the strip, and based on a few roll videos pulls like an absolute freight train, looks fantastic as well. Given the improvements to the 2019 GT350, and GT500 Base, Ford has seriously stepped up their performance and is no longer playing catch-up. The big question now is will Chevy just leave the Corvette to fight the battle or will they step up with a revised 6th Gen or new 7th Gen Camaro?
