I am a Zero. Up to 8500 miles between changes, still Zero.

My initial engine had bbq tick and consumed oil. A quart per 1000-1500 miles depending on driving style.

Right side exhaust tip had carbon deposits much more than left one. So I assume pasenger side was burning a lot of oil. I did not have catch cans.

New short block seems to be not eating oil. At least not as much as the initial one. I installed upr catch can on the passenger side and jlt on driver side.

After almost 500 miles passenger side occ is just dry empty. Separator in the can is also absolutely dry.

Driver side had a few drops at the bottom (but not enough to have complete layer of oil) when I opened it on cold engine.

After that I opened driver side right after a drive, and... it was empty... I think it is located in a hot spot and heats up enough to evaporate any oil it has at the bottom. Once the engine cools down some drops from separator will probably get back to the bottom of the can.

Also , I touched both catch cans - upr that is located in front next to radiator, and jlt that hands nect to the engine. Jlt is HOT, whereas UPR is just warm.

I think I might search for a better alternative for the driver side. Driver side drafts some oil, but catch can is not catching it well enough.

Anyone knows of a driver side occ that is located in a better spot and does its work better?

I added 3 qts over my last oil change interval. I'm going with the interval the car tells me to, so it was right about 9000 miles this time. To me, that's high. Of course the dealer said that was "normal" for the synth blend and that it would consume less on full synth.

Given that I know people that don't even know checking their oil is a thing, I would think the engine would be engineered to not go more than a quart or so low between changes. Perhaps that's why the 2018+ 5.0 has a 10 quart capacity ... the extra 2 quarts is just so they have more buffer to burn.

I’m changing the oil as I write this @ 9400 miles. This is my third change and going with PUP 5w-30. Mine does not burn oil. Yes, plenty of buffer with 10 quarts.

Types a copy of Hamlet every time I run it without Ceratec, and Rattles at 2k like an impact wrench.

But hey, it screams like a Banshee, and gives me whiplash when my foot gets too heavy.
Mine only ticks a tad on cold motor. Yes, these motors rip!

mine has 15k miles now, never has the oil gone down on the dipstick. I am not hard on the car. No ticks or rattles.

I'm not afraid to get on it, and didn't really pay any mind to the break in period once I got my new longblock. 5k mile OCI and the dipstick level remained the same. I'm sure there may have been some loss made up by fuel dilution but it's impossible to judge without a UOA.

With all I've read about burning oil I was worried, but even 2k on my second OCI and it's just fine. I like to think my rings have a good seal.
