You are right their opinions shouldn't matter now that I think of it. Only those of the constituents. I guess what I was trying to say is they are only voting in a way that is best for their political careers survival that is what I meant when I used the term of fear. And yes that is true everywhere I wasn't singling out the US it is just the topic at hand. It is certainly true here in Canada too. We are becoming much more divisive as well.
From what I can tell, most politicians typically vote for what will get them the most money from special interests. If there's a "third rail" issue that will kill their career, then that's the only time they vote based on constituents. But most issues aren't that crucial so they vote with the special interests.

We need laws that prevent government officials from taking any money from anyone, that includes future jobs. It's so annoying to feel powerless due to this corrupt system. Very rare to find someone like Trump that actually tries to help us rather than just digging for gold while in office.

It all good. ..hope you are enjoying that mustang .. it's just upsetting the guys trying to do his job as a president. but the whole entire time.. other parties in play try to cut him down any chance they get to take back control because they don't have a chance at winning against him..shows that our country is not strong and is the sign of weakness.. that pisses me off! This impeachment is not going to make this country stronger ...it's gonna make things worse. I get it Obama was a likable guy and I gave him my support while he was president .. even though Obamacare was complete failure and a lie..Trump might not be a likeable guy and suffers from foot and mouth disease, but he's making a lot of things happen . positive things that needed to happen.more jobs instead of just giving our country away to immigrants. And sucking up our resources. I have no problems with immigrants as long as they do their part to become a citizen and be productive for this country.
No worries Elvis & yes I love the Mustang!

And the whole thing with North Korea that shit was huge!!! . Seems just like yesterday fellow soldiers worried about being deployed because of a possible nuclear war with North Korea..now we have things going positive. possibly a way to make there economy stronger for their people as well.

Canadians care about American politics because they're more interesting and often impact Canadians. The renegotiation of NAFTA and the implementation of tariffs on Canadian goods were spurred on by Trump and many Canadians took notice.
Also, there is alot of attention paid to the current US president because he's entertaining.
For the record I live in Canada and have both US and Canadian citizenship. I'll be voting in next years election.

Dems see the writing on the wall. They don't have a ringer candidate like they did with Obama. Biden is faltering and Warren is as nuts as the rest of the peanut gallery that is running. They think they can't win the next election and are still pissed about the last one, so here we are with imaginary charges to try and push the sitting POTUS out. Nevermind Trump is 3/4 of the way through his term and we haven't entered nuclear war or some other "sky is falling" scenario that alarmists were talking about before. In fact, voting Dem will be a hard sell with unemployment at its lowest in 40 years, among other successes. This could (and should) backfire on them at election time. The Dems look like fools, chasing after one controversy after another, only to reach the end of them no closer to ousting Trump than before. We should be investigating Biden.

Echo chambers are dangerous. Always good to get an outside perspective.

Deserts in California make up about 25 percent of the total surface area. The south-central desert is called the Mojave; to the northeast of the Mojave lies Death Valley. ... Indeed, almost all of southeastern California is arid desert, with extremely high temperatures during the summer.
Bro. I live next to Big Sur. Please tell me how long you have spent time in this state? Besides forests. There's tens of thousands of farm land that you can see from a plane.

Have you ever actually been here? The Mojave is the literal border with Mexico. With more Farm lands around it. lol.

It's like talking to someone who just listens to tv and wiki articles.

Some memes are hilarious...as long as we don't use them to make decisions or inform serious opinions...

-Meme appears to be sarcastically blaming the President for the Kurdish situation. Kurds have not been saved. The “Kurdish Peace Agreement” is a deal between Turkey and Russia to clear Kurds away from the border. Kurds were not part of the discussion and have not cleared the area…at least not yet. For days prior to the TUR-RUS agreement, Kurds were being killed wholesale. Same Kurds who helped lead us to Baghdadi...and bin Laden...

- We gotta be careful not to misinterpret a message that is meant for the enemy:
1. If bin Laden’s body had been handled any other way, we (the U.S.) would have been creating more terrorists. Handling the body respectfully sent a message to the enemy—he was the animal, not us. He was no less dead, regardless to how we (U.S.) handled the body.
2. Having neither a body nor a location dulls extremists' ability to leverage a martyr--important in this war.
3. Strong words notwithstanding, Baghdadi's remains (pieces) were handled the same way for the same reason…not to mention international law…
4. Difference? The message to the enemy. The bin Laden message was—we can find and kill you and still maintain the high ground. Baghdadi message—you have been misled by a hypocrite….you were following a coward who died whining.
5. Risk—Treating bin Laden’s body with respect: Instead of seeing us as more “righteous” than them, the enemy concludes we are weak
6. Risk—overplaying Baghdadi's cowardice: Enemy discounts the words as hollow rhetoric. He was disgusting but punk or not, a man who will strap a bomb to his chest and blow himself up rather than being captured is a dangerous adversary, not to mention the vile extremism he was able to motivate from young men and women from around the world.

There's more to reality than a meme (or news report) can capture...

Strategic consideration:

China and Russia are challenging the accepted international norms governing the Arctic as they seek to exploit natural resources and militarize the high north. They are driven by increased access to areas that were previously not accessible.

Ships, to include cruise ships, are transiting areas that were previously unnavigable.

Because of technology limitations, military (and civilian) navigation and communications are challenged in the high north.

If there is no climate change (regardless to the cause), there is no reason for us (U.S.) to invest in new technology or TTPs (tactics, techniques and procedures) for operating in the Arctic...

So, should we bother?

After all, if there is no climate change, the Chinese and Russians are wasting their time, as they will be conquered by Mother Nature.

I understand fully the terrain in Ca, 25% is a desert. The land needs to be irrigated to produce vegetables to sell. Unless it is stewarded correctly, you will run out of water and California will be more desert. That is if it doesn't burn down first. I've spent all the time Im ever gonna spend there. Been there, not going back.
