I took mine to the dealer for it's first oil change and then I did my first mod. I dropped in a AFE Magnum Flow Pro Dry S filter.

Swapped the original BXT-96R-590 battery out, AC Delco 47 AGM in.

Never did find a full set of specifications for the original; as far as it goes it looks as if no-one wants to know beyond CCA 590. (Found a chart that gives 90 as Reserve) The new one is CCA 630, Reserve 115.

When I wanted to sit in the car with the inition on and engine off, so I could learn the numerous features of the dashboard and the navigation-screen things, the original battery let me do that for about five minutes before blanking out with the announcement that it wanted the ignition off to protect the battery. That required turning on the ignition again, and finding my place in the education process.

The new battery gave me an hour of mess-around time before wanting to shut me off, and another ten minutes on the first try-again. A useful improvement, I think. I also like the idea of an AGM can't-spill battery.

The Group 47 configuration is a little larger in plan view, and half-an-inch taller, all of which seemed tolerable. If I could have found the XS Power D4700 I'd have gone for that, but the shortest back-order delay was more than six weeks, and I'm not always as patient as I could be. I'd still get one if I found one.

Dual tanks? Please explain
Plan is to eventually put only the seamless tank, compressors and manifold in the tire well, but I am waiting for the first scratch on the car before I riddle the tire well floor with drill holes. I had an extra tank already so I just said why not. Not sure if the extra air volume has any impact on the compressors.

I asked the dealer not to put in products on it during make-read or dealership advertisement. They did as I asked so I washed it last night with Dawn to be sure it was clean. I put a coat of Meguiar's ULW on it this morning, two coats on the front end since it's bug season and I live out in the country on a dirt road no less.

Headed out to buy my Dad a compressor for his belated birthday present, probably take him to lunch and back to the house to go get the GT dirty :D

Love that lowered Orange Fury Scott!

The bumper cover clips aren't the greatest. Those quick latches tighten up the nose, making it better able to withstand future remove/re-installation. I'm thinkin' of a set, but it looks like it's a PITA to get right.

haha not harsh at all. I'm not exactly a fan of them either. That's why I am trying to make it somewhat more appealing to me. I don't like the look of the engine without the cover either so I until I have a Whipple sitting up there this is my life lol
Hey I like that you been trying to make the spaceship look better .just gonna embrace it lol

It doesn't fit, at least not without cutting the box. I haven't gotten around to that part quite yet though. The 3400 should fit easily.

"It" (the Group 47 ACDelco and/or XS Power D4700) dropped right into the 2018 box; "it" is an eighth-inch longer and five-eighths wider. On the other dimension, the '47 is five-eighths taller. No trouble attaching the cables and threading them through the appropriate apertures, nor securing the hold-down screw/bracket.

The added height means the big battery cover, the one with three fixing snaps, touches the battery top and the hood liner, but very lightly. I dismiss that touching as insignificant.

Any road, I took the new battery for a sixty-mile ride today, and treated the engine compartment to a treatment with Adam's In & Out Spray.
