Watching this video, it appears you can't run the stock airbox without chopping it up...probably also the case with the GT350 airbox?
Correct, won’t fit.

How are you maxed out with only a 3.6 pulley?I’m with you. I’m pretty much maxed out on the 2200 & 3.6 pulley. It’ll probably run high 9s in full street trim. And I still feel like I left enough on the table. That the motor and transmission should live a long happy life. There always someone faster. And always someone with a bigger dyno number. I can cut a zero light with the best of em. So it’s ok if they have a little more power.
Okay I see what you’re saying now. How much power are you making? I made 856 rwhp with a 3.6 pulley on mine. I bought a 3.48 to throw on it, but I was surprised at the power I made with the 3.6. These gen 3’s really make good power with that compression.Im maxed out as there is nothing more practical for me to do. I run e85 with a return system. I have full Bolt-Ons. And the tuner has pulled all he's comfortable pulling out of this set up. And im fine with that.
Same with me bro, just want to run a 9 full weight. On your 10.2 run what was your 1/8 my time & speed. I’m wondering what my 1/4 would’ve been on 93 when I ran that 6.5I’m a 15gt. I also found out recently. that I had a false knock issue. (Caused by a cracked header collector). When Lund was tuning the e85 a couple weeks ago. So I have to wonder. if I had that issue last fall? when I ran the 10.2 on the 93 tune? If that’s the case. The car could have been faster last year. But I’ll be happy with a 9 anything in this car.
Nice!!Here’s the slip.![]()
you can get a 6 or 8 rib, or our custom 10 rib with any setupSo let me confirm...
The 2200SL is 6rib, Self lubricated Helical geared but you can option 8rib and/or straight cut gears.
The 2200HD is 8rib straight off the bat and is engine oiled but helical geared unless you option straight cut?
Is this thing worth considering....

as far as sizing,Beefcake would be a good source for information about helical cut vs straight gears. I thought both units had helical gears. I would not worry about going too big because the 2200HD or the vortech JT will be fine. I see no need to go 8 rib if you do the 2200SL because you can over spin that unit with the 6 rib.
What I meant in an earlier post is I made a mistake going with the 2200SL because it was at its limit with a 3.48 pulley and I wanted more boost. I sold it and bought the hellion sleeper kit. My car picked up .4 in the 1/4 with the turbo running slightly less boost than the Paxton. The turbo is a great option as well but the install is more involved and more room for error with the boost control since it is limited by the wastegate and not the pulley.
similar, but not the same gear ratioWell, I've just been offered the V7 JT-trim Vortech 8rib tuner kit for about $1k less than the Paxton tuner kit...should I do this instead?
This supplier suggests it's the same thing as the 2200HD.....is it?
When I read some other listings for the kit in question(4FQ218-164JT) it suggests it's a straight cut gearset?
Is it or isn't it?
Any reason why the V3-JT costs $500 more than the 2200SL or is that the V7-JT that it references on your Beefcake Special 900 hp package?you can get a 6 or 8 rib, or our custom 10 rib with any setup
all oil fed blower come with the louder gear, all the SL (self lubricated blowers) come with quiet gears, but can be upgraded to loud gears for $200
no performance difference between any gear
as far as sizing,
v3 si SL
v3jt SL=2200 SL
the rest are oil fed
v7jt = 2200 hd (although the 2200 hd has a different gear ratio) -
ysi = 2200x
jtB is actually a ysib, with a smaller inducer, and larger than a reg jt
billet ysi
similar, but not the same gear ratio
no one will beat our pricing on the kits, hit me up with anything you need
