So let me confirm...
The 2200SL is 6rib, Self lubricated Helical geared but you can option 8rib and/or straight cut gears.
The 2200HD is 8rib straight off the bat and is engine oiled but helical geared unless you option straight cut?

Is this thing worth considering....

Beefcake would be a good source for information about helical cut vs straight gears. I thought both units had helical gears. I would not worry about going too big because the 2200HD or the vortech JT will be fine. I see no need to go 8 rib if you do the 2200SL because you can over spin that unit with the 6 rib.

What I meant in an earlier post is I made a mistake going with the 2200SL because it was at its limit with a 3.48 pulley and I wanted more boost. I sold it and bought the hellion sleeper kit. My car picked up .4 in the 1/4 with the turbo running slightly less boost than the Paxton. The turbo is a great option as well but the install is more involved and more room for error with the boost control since it is limited by the wastegate and not the pulley.

I can’t make comment on the rails (Whipple supply their own) but the lines and fittings seem adequate for pump fuel. I could be wrong though.
Well I don't see any talk of the lines or rails on here so probably not an issue.

Thanks Bo,
Yes that's what I thought you meant.
I think if I go ahead I'll do the 2200HD, Helical gears and 8rib more for piece of mind than anything else.
Plus I can go the torque boost method which will probably mean an 8rib is more desirable anyway with higher load at lower rpm.
Yes the turbo route is tempting but I want simple installation and ease of removal if the pigs catch me.

After looking at it a bit more, the Paxton 2200SL probably fits my bill and like the comment mentioned before, it's the same price as the Vortech blower but offers more. The same equivalent Vortech one to the 2200SL actually costs more?

That would be the vortech JT oil fed which is a bit more expensive. It is much more capable. Taping the oils pan is no big deal and it removes having to change head unit oil.

Definitely something to consider. Does it affect how heavy of an oil that you would run versus a self lubricated unit? I know 5-20w is too thin for FI in most cases. Already intend on changing out the oil when the time comes. The JT trim does sound very desirable.

I don't think so. I would not change the recommended weight of the oil in the car. It could cause additional stress on oil pump gears.

Well, I've just been offered the V7 JT-trim Vortech 8rib tuner kit for about $1k less than the Paxton tuner kit...should I do this instead?
This supplier suggests it's the same thing as the 2200HD.....is it?
When I read some other listings for the kit in question(4FQ218-164JT) it suggests it's a straight cut gearset?
Is it or isn't it?

It is the same as the Paxton 2200HD but doesn't cost as much. On Beefcake's site, it states that the gear set is straight cut.

Ok, in this case the supplier has an actual helical geared one. Apparently you can have either.

The 2018 or gt350 manifold will be a great compliment to the kit. Consider e85. I just got done tuning with lund. It made a huge difference.

Does that filter on the front of the head unit make a difference in power? I heard the JLT cold air is restrictive. Thinking about going the filter on the blower route. I'm scared to ride around with just a turbo guard

I'm going to use the GT350 airbox if it's possible?

Watching this video, it appears you can't run the stock airbox without chopping it up...probably also the case with the GT350 airbox?
