you don't have to tap the pan is the biggest pro to the self lubricated, that is what i hear from customers, but..in reality, it's a 5 minute job,

the oil fed typically are gonna handle higher blower rpms better
How are they tapping the pan on the gen 3’s since it’s a plastic oil pan. How are they welding it. That’s what I’m wondering lol

we tapped it just the same and threaded it there is no pressure there, it's just a return on the 18 up we pull the pan to do it

Well I took the car back and Ford are calling this noise The Typewriter tick. They say it has no effect on durability, but then they would say that. So I’m going to stick a borescope down it at the very least.

We'll I'm eyeing off blowers again. Ford won't do anything about the tick so I'm just going to give it hell anyway. I've since fitted headers and the GT350 intake manifold etc.
So, I was going to go for the Vortech JTB engine oil fed but I have another question which, i searched an answer for but couldn't find.....
What's the theory behind centrifugal sizing? EG; Si-trim vs JT-trim?
I suppose the Si spins up faster(easier) off idle than the JT but if the impeller is larger in the JT does that mean there's more airflow for the same speed?
If I'm not going for E85(too hard to get) or race fuel am I wasting my time with a JTB?

the 2200 or the reg jt is more than enough on the stock engine. will be more effiecient overall, you want to tailor your head unit to where you'll be using it, no need to spend the extra $, feel free to hit me up with any questions

Thanks Terry,
So, isn't the Si-trim Vortech a smaller blower than the JT or 2200? I see people refer to clearancing the hood liner with the larger housing of the JT vs the Si correct? I was going to go with the JTB tuner kit because I just figured I'd go engine oiled and 8 rib straight off the bat. I wouldn't go straight cut gears though. But it sounds like you're saying the smaller blower is more efficient for my 98octane use anyway?
Edit; It's ok I went back through and found the efficiency ratings are higher for the smaller Si trim. In terms of sizing it appears to go Si, 2200 and then JT. Mind you it's 78% Si vs 75% JT....not exactly a huge difference.
