Got it on my 2018 GT Premium, really like it. Wish I could save the Sport setting as default but it always starts up as normal.

I run in Track Mode almost all of the time. However, wifey likes it quiet so for her it is Quiet Mode. Good option as far as I am concerned.
Have you found a way to default it in my mode to track setting, mine no matter waht defaults to normal.

So the only way to change to the "loud" setting is to be in Sport or Track mode? Is track louder than sport? How do you go to "normal" after you've started it in quiet mode?

No, I have yet to find a way so I start it and toggle to My Mode settings.

Track is slightly louder than Sport.

If programmed to start in Quiet than just toggle to one of the other modes including your My Mode settings if you have set that up.

I wish it would default back to where it was when you shut the car off.

A slight pain in the ass, but I'll get used to it. It's just another part of the start-up operation, like my '17 Fusion which I'm finally accustomed to defeating the 'auto shut off' mode. That feature is really annoying.

Have you had any issues with the butterfly rattling in the exhaust? I know that was a common problem with the Camaro.
None so far, knock on wood.

I went with the active exhaust because I plan to install headers at some point. The quiet mode should tone it down a little so it won’t be Nascar loud. Plus I figured in the interim doing a resonator delete would make it just as good as an aftermarket exhaust for like $200.

I drove a 18 rental for a weekend without it, it was nice sounding but I would ahve changed it....then drove a 18 for a day with the active exhaust, amazing for what a grand gets you. I ordered mine with it.

IMO active exhaust is a must have. It's the only way to enjoy the sound when you want plus be able to avoid alienating your neighbors.

FYI if you are also considering MagneRide. Rumor has it (I really don't know} that with drive mode in Track Active Exhaust is also in Track. This could be a problem if you are an autocrosser at sites with sound limits or simply like to drive in Track drive mode but don't want a loud exhaust all the time. This MAY also be true without MagneRide.

I have MagneRide and the standard exhaust and am very pleased with the sound compared with the previous 15 GT's sound. But I like stealth. Ruby Red Mustang's attract enough attention without making people turn their heads to see what made a bunch of noise. ;)

With drive mode in track the exhaust defaults to track, in sport mode to sport, etc. Once you switch modes you can independently switch the exhaust, however. It does the same for the steering feel. The exhaust setting has no affect on performance as Ford made it so the exhaust gradually opens with the rpm to avoid choking airflow - when in track mode it’s just fully opened regardless of the rpm/needed airflow. I’m fairly certain I read that it’s more than simple butterfly valves in the 2018+ Mustang’s active exhaust. At least that’s my rough understanding of it.

Is it louder than the non-active exhaust?
The non active exhaust is basically “normal mode” (I drove two 18s with AE, one without). Sport with the AE is considerably louder, Track sounds like god laughing. :p

So I can't have the Track AE without being in Track mode? Most of the time I would want the loudest exhaust sound without losing all the nannies.
