There's a chance I may be mixing up American Muscle's videos of modified 2018 AE systems, but if I am recalling correctly, you may want to go H-Pipe over X-Pipe. I think I remember the X-Pipe sounding more-or-less the same with an extra 10-15-ish gain in decibel, where H-Pipe gained the same amount of decibels but also became deeper sounding and overall meaner (IMO) and was almost more akin to the old 4.6L with an aftermarket exhaust on the old New Edge Mustangs (say what you want about their power and moding capabilities, with a good exhaust those things sounded friggin amazing). BUT, everyone's tastes are certainly different! Personally, I prefer a deep rumble that you feel vibrate your entire chest cavity at lower rpms, some may prefer a higher pitched V8, though.BTW, you don’t have to buy a Premium to get the Active Exhaust. You can go with the base Mustang GT with the 301A package & Active Exhaust. I came close to getting my Mustang that way, but opted to go with the Premium, 401A package & Active Exhaust. Either way, I love my Active Exhaust. Sounds pretty damn good for stock, and don’t plan on changing it for now (might go with an X-pipe later on).
