So I can't have the Track AE without being in Track mode? Most of the time I would want the loudest exhaust sound without losing all the nannies.
Exhaust mode is completely separate from driving modes. You can be in any active exhaust mode regardless of driving modes.

You can set the exhaust independently of the drive mode. You can be in any drive mode and select any exhaust mode.
ie: You can be set for wet/snow mode and set the exhaust to track, you can be in drag mode and set the exhaust to quiet, etc - any combination.

I had a 2016 GT Vert. I loved it. An 18 wheeler didn't. Totaled. I received my 2018 GT Vert in December. I now have 2500 miles on it. It has Active Exhaust. Best option I have on my loaded car. The quiet mode is super. Even with the top down it is just a little bit quieter than my 16. Perfect for everyday. BUT,,,,you gotta love it when you put it into Sport or Track. Sounds like I have a Borla or Corsa system. I have had so many car owners ask me what aftermarket exhaust I have. Most are very surprised to find out it was a factory option. My advice, this is the first box you check off when looking for a new Mustang.

Has anyone with the active exhaust done the resonator delete/X-pipe? and if so, how does it effect all the different settings. I'm thinking of doing it if for no other reason than the 20 pounds it saves.

Yep, even the quiet mode is pretty loud with the X-pipe, but what about dyno differences between the three?

The active exhaust sounds really good. The quite setting needs to actually be quiet though. It's still pretty loud.
Pretty sure I'd have to stay off the loud peddle in the driveway to keep from waking the other half. It's not bad at idle.

In quiet mode, if you rev the car the exhaust opens up to prevent a loss in performance. Quiet mode is meant to reduce noise at start-up, idle and low revs (ie: leaving a suburban street at 20mph), with regular driving it’s certainly not all that quiet. :)

BTW, you don’t have to buy a Premium to get the Active Exhaust. You can go with the base Mustang GT with the 301A package & Active Exhaust. I came close to getting my Mustang that way, but opted to go with the Premium, 401A package & Active Exhaust. Either way, I love my Active Exhaust. Sounds pretty damn good for stock, and don’t plan on changing it for now (might go with an X-pipe later on).
