Exxon Gas

From what I've read 93 will get you another 10hp over 87, so hardly noticeable in times and unlikely to be noticed seat of the pants.
I have tested this various times with gas from Shell, Mobil and now Exxon.
91 Octane from Shell & Mobil - gas milage sucks - 13-14 MPG. city driving.
93 Octane from Exxon - gas milage 18-22 mpg city driving.

Yes and I drive the same every time. I do believe Exxon has a better quality gas or additives not to mention higher octane.

Sounds like you are getting shitty fuel from Shell and Mobil. I've used top tier fuel from Costco and QT using 87 and 93 octane and notice a 0 MPG difference. I've tested this out on mixed driving and highway only driving.

If it were me, I would stop using Shell & Mobil in your area if they truly are giving you those results.

Isn't Exxon/Mobil the same company?

I experimented with 87 and 93. On my once a month 320 mile round trip. With 93 i ran 24.5mpg at 80 mph. With 87 i ran 29.2 mpg. Using shell.

Not sure why that is. Im no engineer.
That is not possible unless they blended way too much ethanol in the 93 octane. The energy density of 93 octane gasoline is higher than 87. So you need less fuel to burn for the same amount of energy the 87 octane is providing. Unless the tune is altered or something.

Use any top tier gas (not the same as octane) from a high volume gas station and sleep well at night.

Ok I give. That makes more sense. Then there are a lot of shitty gas stations down here and robbing us blind.

I've used gas from several of the Shell stations around Ocala, I consistently lose 3-4 mpg with their gas. I refuse to use them anymore. The wife noticed same thing in her Kia Optima non-turbo!!

I feed my GT350 Shell 93 exclusively. Why? It's like a religion and I have a Shell Fuel Rewards card. Saves 10 cents/gallon for every 93 fill up.

On Shell gas. Mobil & Exxon are merged companies but I can tell you Mobil & Shell give me the same results - Exxon does way better in terms of gas mileage.
I tested my hypothesis over a two month period and I drive the same routes at the same time and same speed to test this out. You can't argue with facts.

Local Stangs - go to 137th and Bird Road and fill up at Exxon 93 Octane. Oh yeah Shell was $3.29 a gallon for 91, Exxon was $2.99 for 93. Go figure.

I've not used Mobil Gas, Thanks for the Heads up!! Honestly, I do great with Citgo, but only from newer stations, of course!
