What size spacers before needing longer studs?

Alright, need some help with this. What is the thickest wheel spacers I can get before needing to get new studs or spacers with their own studs? Also, what is considered a safe amount of turns for the lug nuts to provide a proper grip?

Id say 5-7mm max on stock studs. Im running a 5mm slip on up front wouldn't feel to safe going more honestly.

I'm using the CJPP 1/4 inch spacers (~6.8mm) and with my AMR wheels I get 8 turns before torquing, minimum to be safe on these is 7.5, I haven't had any issues yet. I think my studs were a few threads longer than some other people, or the wheels have a thinner barrel. I plan to put longer studs at some point so I can bump up to a 10mm spacer and gain a little more clearance on the strut tower but thats on the back burner for now.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to bash for not searching. Jut saying the information I have is from reading it in the other threads. I think I'm near the top of the list to say it's very difficult to find information using the search feature here.

It's all good. Was trying to get a more concise thread of opinions. Everything else I've seen on these forums is spread out and opinions varied a lot. I thinking about getting the 1/4 inch spacers from cj's but don't want to run the risk of stressing the lugs.

I think 1/4" should be fine while 8mm is pushing it a bit.

Do you have a link for 8mm that fits? Couldn't find anything with 70.3mm center bore.
I ended up ordering 1/2" from CJPP since there's nothing between 6mm & 10mm. I don't want to replace studs & it look like with 1/2" it's a must. I'll most likely returning them.

You get what you pay for. Those spacers are a work of art. I've been using 25mm version for few years now with extended studs for track driving, and I wouldn't put anything else on my car.

There is no canned answer number of threads for safe engagement. The rule/correct answer is a minimum depth equal to the diameter of the stud. That's a solid 1/2", so figure out how many threads/turns that would be.

And longer studs are cool - and just waaayyy to easy of a mod to roll the dice on this topic. I get it's not an apples to apples comparison, but go find someone that would do a track day with a questionable eight threads engaged.

I've been told 5mm is the biggest to be safe, 7mm is doable but I wouldn't recommend it. I've ran a 5mm on my car for a while and no issues.
