My appt is Wed. I am going to bring my laptop to the installer. If they have a problem I will walk. I guess I could just download the file the night before like Wildcatgoal said and then tell them here it is, hit the program button.

If I am correct as soon as your performance tune is programmed to your car, your stock tune switches into the performance tune file location. Then to restore you just pull that orignal performance file back up and download again to return to stock tune.

I just overlooked the engine and couldn't figure out which hoses go where. Had trouble trying to pull up those pins on the connectors coming off the stock intake. Just got a bad feeling...lol

Taking my mustang in on Thursday to have my pp2 installed. Been going back and forth with the dealership about using my laptop to install the tune. They are trying to tell me it doesn't save the stock tune and not to worry. I told them it does and if for some reason I want to remove the pp2 I will need my stock tune to re-flash the vehicle. Then I was told they don't need the stock tune from the car to re-flash it if I want to remove the pp2, they can just get it through ford anytime.

My thoughts are I'm sure they can but for a fee... Starting to wondering if the hassle of having the dealership install the my pp2 is worth the 8 months which is left on my warranty.
If you only have 8 months I would install it yourself or sell it and go Lund or Livernois.

LOL!! Yeah, I thought the service manager at South Bay Fords was pretty cool. Until I asked about install my PP2 kit. He told me they wont install it and if they see it on my car they will void the warranty.

I said well I guess I wont be coming back anytime soon.

You are probably going to laugh but I am giving Autonation Ford on PCH a try. I spoke with the manager of the service department. He said the car would still be under warranty not to worry. I told him I am very particular when it comes to my car.

He schedule me with their mechanic who is SVT certified (If that really makes a different). Installing the PP2 kit isn't rocket science. Personally if it wasn't for the warranty I would do it myself. I asked how much he said ~$260 so not bad at all.

I will let you know how it goes. My last resort was taking the car to Galpin but its just so far.

Ask that dealer if they warranty a Ford Mustang GTE? If they say yes, tell them it comes with the PP2 kit from factory.

Alright my bipolarness decided against installing the kit. I decided not to reduce my powertrain warranty from 5/60k down to 2/24k ( balance of warranty ford performance would give) for maybe a 15 whp gain. Just doesn't seem worth it to me. If I am going to reduce my warranty its going to be over forced induction. Ill put the kit up for sale on craigslist.

Which factory ? Shelby, isn't it ? It's a aftermarket modified car...

"This Performance Packs and Components Limited Warranty begins upon installation and
registration of the part(s) with Ford Performance and remains in effect for the balance of 36 months or 36,000
miles / 60,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first"
These means PP2 components, CAI, Throttle body if damaged, will be replaced by Ford Performance within 3 years.

"Installation of these select Ford Performance and mountune warranted performance packs and
components by an authorized installer will NOT void your New Vehicle Limited Warranty. "

These applies to everything else, such as the motor itself, and driveline, interior etc.

Seems this has gone pretty far off the rails... and i don't want to read 160 pages of this. Does anyone have definitive info on the PP2 affecting the new vehicle warranty? I'm not too worried about the bumper to bumper because it's a 2015 with 20K miles. But it's my understanding that having Ford install would leave my 5 year/60K powertrain warranty intact. Can anyone confirm this? Thank you-

Here is the Ford Performance Parts Warranty. It supercedes your regular Ford warranty for the PP2. It is pretty clearly written and you should be able to understand the interplay between the Ford Performance Warranty and the Regular Ford warranty.

PP1 to PP2

I've been driving the PP1 on my 16 GT manual trans. I like the no lift shift, but don't use it often. If you miss a shift you won't hit the rev limiter which is nice.
I'm thinking of burning my tax return on PP2. My dealer couldn't match Levittown's price and advised me to buy from Levittown. Originally quoted me $300 for the install then called back and said it would be $400 because the tune takes a long time to load. I didn't tell him that I loaded the PP1 tune in about five minutes. I'll be checking with the other San Diego dealers.
