So, I was washing and waxing my 2016 GT/PP earlier this week, and noticed that I have a rather large paint chip behind/under the passenger side hood heat extractor! It's below the "surface" of the hood, meaning that if something was to hit the hood, it would have no way of reaching this spot (it would pass over or hit the higher heat extractor). It's also on the trailing edge, away from the front end of the car. It looks like it extends underneath the plastic heat extractor, though I haven't removed it to see the extent of the damage.
My car is *just* a year old, and I'm pretty pissed that it could be poor prep or the hood cancer that S197s have. I'm in SC, and this car has never seen salt or snow.
Anyone else have a similar issue? What's the likelihood that I'd be able to get my hood repainted under the anti-corrosion warranty? Seems like paint should hold up for more than a year, especially when it's been waxed and taken care of.
