Base S550 GT:

Default at every start-up:
- Traction Control On
- Stability Control On

Single tap: "Traction Control Off"
- Traction Control Off
- Stability Control On

Double Tap: "AdvancTrac Sport Mode"
- Traction Control Reduced
- Stability Control Reduced

Press & Hold: "AdvancTrac Off" (e.g. Track Mode)
- Traction Control Off
- Stability Control Off
In most sports cars with various "driving Modes" Track Mode is NOT everything off. usually its something like traction off and Stability minimal, but will intervene to save you ass if needed. Usually everything off is the "everything off" mode

Maybe. But the 2015 Owner's Manual (P. 142-146) indicates that the Mustang turns them off.

And for track use, that's what you want.

So I'd insist on having that mode. It is very helpful in helping you manage throttle from a 435 hp car. I appreciate it being there... it basically slows everything down which eliminated tire spin in careful driving.
My wife is a good driver, but snow / wet mode is a must for her if she gets caught out in the rain in my GT.

I would't be surprised if the premium model just retards the throttle a little bit in normal mode. The ones I've test driven definitely felt a bit more sluggish compared to the PP base model I bought that does not have the toggle switches.
that would be because of the gear ratio...

I'm well aware of the gear ratio difference. Normal mode in premiums the throttle feels like it's delayed or more sluggish. Obviously we all know premium isn't faster than base or anything. Many premium owners report normal mode feeling sluggish as well.

See the notes in the "Benefit" column about throttle response in the table in Post #32. The throttle response does change depending on what the driving mode is set to.

I know that. I'm saying to me in the premium the normal mode felt more dumbed down tha an in the base model without drive modes.

In Track mode on my 16 GTPP/PP stabil-trac is still on. If you hold the traction control level for 5 seconds, then it turns it off.

That's not what the post directly above yours is indication from the manual.

Your statement "and for track use that's what you want", that certainly not what I want. Maybe its what you want, totally off, but I want the computer to save my butt at the last possible minute, and that is what "track mode" is for. If you have "expert" driving skills, "you" probably do want all nannies off, but I'm a weekend warrior that very much want to leave the track will all the shiny surfaces still shiny and having track mode takes away a very minimal amount of track fun and increases the likelihood you'll be driving home from the track. IMO

Interesting.. that would make the most sense. Wonder why they would dumb it down for premium owners though, the default setting that is.

I noticed the significant change in throttle response when playing with the modes earlier today.

I have read the owners manual about that stuff. Whether you have a base or premium pp with a 5.0, do any of the driving modes affect the way the motor runs?
No.

From the owner's manual.
I have seen that and Ford of course knows best. Except the part about how in Tack Mode the "engine takes a more powerful tone." Not really sure what they are talking about there. The only way my car took on a more powerful tone was to replace the catback!

The reason I am interested in sorting this out is I prefer the cloth Recaro Seats for track use, generally leather is not used for track use seats. However, you can only get the Cloth Recaro in the Base, the Premium Recaro's are Leather. Seems backwards from a track user perspective. No "Track Mode" with the "Base" model cloth Recaro's.
I understand Track users are a small minority.
