zero out magneride

does anybody know the process on zeroing out the magneride height sensors? i know people have said if you lower your cars or have a drastic change in tire size you want to zero them out but i cant find the information on them. thank you in advanced

Basically any suspension work in Ford manual on magride equipped car tells you to zero ride height - for which technically you need a Ford diagnostic tool (IDS).

I think I saw people reporting Forscan has that ability but I haven't used it for so long that I don't for sure - I am using a DSC Sport Controller (which replaces stock controller - VDM - Vehicle Dynamics Module) and it has it's own software with ride height reset capability.

For instance, my MR car has recently had a lot of bits removed (the diff came out) and then the same items replaced - do I need to zero the ride height ?

I'll check when I am back at home but basically anything called for that from what I remember - spring replacement for example (stock to stock) - so any time you unbolt a control arm or a camber / toe link I think.

I wonder if lower control arm replacement requires a reset due to potential casting and machining tolerances for the ride height sensor mount ?

As long as you're not changing ride height, it's probably not that big of a deal. Like KZ said, it's pretty easy with the DSC. I should check in ForScan, though. I've never really poked around the stock VDM. I'll make that a weekend project.

So I installed the springs and sway bars from the Ford M-9602-M kit. (Have a PP2 so didn’t need the calibration.) Lowered the car about 1/2”. Instructions don’t mention anything about recalibrating ride height, figure if it was required, Ford would mention it. Car handles just fine, no issues.
