It depends. I mean hot oil would have bigger volume but if you change too quickly, the oil is not fully drained back to the pan it could be lower. Just check it when cold.
Don't know for the GT350, but the Coyote in the GT has "full/max" marks on the dipstick for a cold oil check and a hot oil check. If the oil is at the top line on the hash marks when cold, then it will end up being on the top hole when fully hot. I usually check the oil level cold because it's easier to see the level on the dipstick, and it's the most repeatable way to check the oil level.

This is a GT350 forum, who cares about dipstick on a GT, different engine :)

Yeah, I know ... but there were comments about checking the oil hot vs cold. Same principle applies to every vehicle on the road. Guess the Coyote has a better dipstick than the GT350 ... :p

With an oil change at 1,500 miles and about 7,000 miles on the odo, it seems like my car is using about 1 quart every 3,000 miles. I guess this is about normal relative to others?

I have owned 2 GT350's, a track Pack with 2 different engine and an R. Both cars tracked and driven on the street. Average about 5-7k miles a year. Oil consumption as expected and within Ford's tolerance.

I have not witnessed an oil consumption issue at all. I changed the oil for the first time at ~1600 miles (when I installed the MGW) - no evidence of an oil reduction. After 700 additional miles, there has been no change.

I used maybe ~1/4 quart in 1000 miles. Not too bad.

However... I overfilled a bit because the oil used in the GT350 seems to expand quite a bit when hot. Whenever you check the oil, do it consistently. Don't do it hot one day and a week later check it when it's cold...

This is mine. At about 700 miles I took a look at the dipstick and observed the oil line was about at 1/3 from the bottom of the hash marks. Today at 1050 miles, it was just below\right at the bottom hole on the dipstick. Went to Ford, got 1 qt. of oil and added it. Now the oil is dead even with the top of the hash marks. So I am burning about 1/2 quart per 500 miles.

Check your oil boys and girls.

Not our dipstick but a visual representation of about where 1/3 was at 700 miles.
I have found that the harder you drive it the more oil it burns. Mine burned 1 qt in 500 miles with hard driving all the time. When it is just highway and easy driving, then it doesn't burn oil really. So if a car is not burning anything then there is not any hard driving going on, just easy driving. So if you do half and half, then probably would burn a qt in 1500 or so miles.

Since my last oil change 4200 miles ago, I've added exactly 1 qt of oil.

I do a wide range of driving in the car - some weekends I do 600 miles on the interstate and leave it in 5th or 6th the entire time. The rest of the time I'm in the mountains for spirited driving. I do not daily drive or do short trips in it.

I would agree with this. The harder I drive it, the more it burns.

Mine just turned 1500 miles and still at the top hash mark on the dipstick. A good chunk of those miles were running the freeway on-off ramp circuit around here.
