If you live anywhere in or near a city that has a lot of carjackings, just get a manual trans. 99.9% of these thugs can't drive a manual and 3 quarters of them are just trying to get out of dodge anyway they can because they committed another crime nearby.

All 4 vehicles we own have the intelligent access from ford with the pushbutton start. I drill it into my wife and daughter all the time, don't carry the fob in your purse or your phone either for that matter, if you get carjacked, chances are they are taking your purse too. And if it happens, push the button before you get out of the car and when you get out run!!! By the time they figure out you shut it off and you have the key fob with you, you are far enough away that they will move on to another victim.

I don't think I've ever once even flirted with the thought that my car may get stolen. Maybe it's where I live, but during my work day I'm in kinda of a rough neighborhood. I worry more about some unsavory character running a key or knife down the side. As someone above said, if they want it that bad they can have it.
