I've found the owners manual with my "new" 2015 is a little light on detail in some areas. It says to arm the active anti-theft alarm by "electronically" locking the car. That's it.

I have a few questions:

Really all the ways of locking the car are "electronic", do they mean using the remote only?

If I press the remote once, it locks. If I press it twice, the horn beeps. Is there a difference in the state of the system if it beeps?

Do the door LED lights do anything different when the system is armed?

On my 2011, the manual said you can arm the alarm by pressing the door power lock button before closing the door. I believe this was to prevent a criminal from hanging out in a parking lot and intercepting your signal to be able to disarm and unlock the car himself. The 2015 doesn't make any mention of that. Is that still the case?

Thanks!

Mine ('18) says there cannot be a key inside the car. If the key is outside the car electronic locking is from the fob or touching the spot on the door handle. I don't know if looking the doors from the inside door button (with the door open) would count as the key being out of the car. In any case, that wouldn't stop someone from stealing your keys signal as these pretty much communicate with the car and/or broadcast all the time.
If you want to test it lock the car however you want, take the fob far away from the car, remove the emergency key and go try to unlock the car with it. You will know pretty quickly if the alarm is activated.

Isn't the second click just for confirmation beep/light flash?
I also believe the second click where the car honks shuts off the electronics so they’re not running all night.

They shut off automatically based on load. Double clicking doesn't disable the dashcam.

Yeah, according to my owners manual the second click is just a confirmation.
