So a local shop close to me (Racemod) is doing a sale on pro-charger systems (P-1SC-1 PROCHARGER kit) . 15% percent off for black friday. They are pretty well known in the aera for their work and have done tons of these systems. I was quoted 8500$ for the system out the door which includes labor and inhouse custom dyno tuning. I asked about the reliability and they said for the 700hp crank 600 whp tunes they do I really shouldnt need much other than headers down the road. I asked about opg's and they said I really shouldnt need them at that power level running the 10r80. The owner who I spoke with said they typically arent into doing max boost builds unless requested by the customer and that i Should have a reliable street setup out the door. I asked if i could even tune for less hp and they said they can do that for me if id like. So I thought about maybe tuning for 650hp at the crank for even more reliability. So my question is does this seem like a fair deal? I will provide any extra information if needed. thanks!

Wouldn't the Ford solution be cheaper and also still come with a 3yr warranty?

If you haven't spent time on the phone with Lethal, beefcake, and livernois (Detroit) I'd be dialing in the morning.

The PC solution is likely just fine, but I think you can do better price wise and a convo with those 3 should be instructive.

I'll consider that. Always good to get professional opinions and options

I don't know much about shop pricing being I'm in the middle of nowhere car scene wise but that seems like a really good price to me. I'm looking to boost now but I'm on the fence about direction. If I go with a centri I'm looking at around mid $6k for just the kit, add injectors, & the cheapest fuel system I've found (Sai Li) & I'm in the mid $8k range. Add the tuning & I'm well into the $9k range. Plus I have to do all the installation & my tune will be an email tune over a much better Dino tune which not only will tune your car but show you #s. So I think it's a hell of a deal.

Thanks for your input. This was the ad they put out on Facebook which lead to me giving them a call

Yeah if I had a deal like that close to me I'd take it. I did a Whipple on my last mustang along with opg/cs, headers, clutch, fuel system & being I'm not nowhere near calling myself a mechanic it was a bit of a job to get it all done in my garage.

Yeah Whipple is nice. I wanted a pro charger for a year now due to stock like drivability and don't need more than 700 at the Crank for the street. If I was doing it myself I'd probably go with the cheaper ESS kit. I'm definitely tempted to get this done. I do like having local support for the mods. Plenty of time to think about it. We'll see what happens

If you can use basic hand tools, I'd say get the ESS kit and do it yourself, it is not hard at all... and you will save a bunch of money on labor.

I installed the ess kit in my garage without even jacking the car up.. it was kind of annoying underneath the front lip but it is definitely do-able

Seems cheap as it includes everything. It looks like the add has discounts for blower upgrades as well. I like to do most things myself, but at that price I'd let them install it.

I want to do the ESS kit as well. I just don't want to go through the trouble of doing opg/cs.

Whatever you get, install it yourself. Unless you physically cannot or do not have the space to do it.
