Received my Ford Performance strut bar from Steeda and box came damaged and shows slight paint damage to the piece. Is this worth trying to get an exchange? I know it’s not their fault but a shipping issue rather.

I wouldn't, but I'm also harder on stuff and tend to scratch it myself pretty effectively. I can't really see a scratch, but I'd probably just get some touch up paint and move on.

Also, I live in Texas and don't deal with salt.

If you want a new one, no reason not to ask them. Worst case, they say no.

makes no sense to send it back, after install , if it is noticeable to you and bugs you, get a paint pen and touch it up. all will be right with the world once again !

As long as it’s not bent you should be fine. If it bothers you, get a shadow black paint pen and fix it up.

I'm like 60% confident it's a strut tower brace. Which I think is why the question was asked. But regardless, that mark looks so minor, you will probably add a scratch or two on install anyways.
Yeah I’m with you on the 60%, with the other 40% being it’s the cowl brace that sits directly under it (if it’s the kit that comes with it).

My cowl brace was scuffed from the factory, so the chances are a replacement may also be scuffed, just in a different place - it’s a large heavy item to pack and post whilst guaranteeing zero damage.

It could be refinished to a higher standard than OE, and customised / colour coded at the same time if desired :like:

Nope, not worth the song and dance via shipping and time... Touch up paint, and call it a day!

I'd ask to speak to the manager........ 😏

Kidding. That doesn't seem like something I'd stress about, but I'm not really a fender polisher either. Also: my FP exhaust was poking through the box in a few places by the time I got it. Maybe Ford Performance's boxes/packing are just crap.

If you wish to pursue this you're likely going to have to file with the shipper. You will need good documentation and should waste no time contacting them. Even then I think you'll have an uphill fight to get any kind of compensation.
The best idea I've seen so far is to install it and touch up any marks.

Get some touch up paint and move on. It's going on a Mustang, not a Ferrari.
You’re right, sometimes it feels like one to me though, I purchased this car all myself and I’m 23, really my biggest purchase of my life so far. I love it so much!

No, it’s more of a semi satin standard generic black (shadow is metallic) :like:
