I want to tint my front windshield to cut down glare and heat in the summer, but I am torn between 70% or 55%. The shop I go to uses Xpel XR ceramic tint so those are the two options I have. I am leaning toward 70%, but the shop recommended I go even darker 35-45% and I think that is way too dark for a windshield. Planning to go 30% all-around.

Also, anybody have any issues with tint on the windshield interfering with the sun load sensor? Not sure how sensitive it will be due to reduced light through the windshield.

I have Xpel 80% and it definitely effects the sensor. I dont notice it so much with the headlights (maybe they use a different sensor?), but the interior lights will often brighten/dim as I go through shadows, even in full daylight.

Does adding the black wrap to the roof add any additional interior heat during summer??

JFC. Get a grip. It’s some cheesy window tint FFS. Your life wont be ruined for 12 months without window tint.

My first mod is always tint, as that's what I do for a living. I have Suntek CIR40 on the sides and back with a 6" 5% windshield strip. Same for my Daughter's.
