There's got to be a picture of the MMR 5.4 or 5.5 stroker Coyote pistons out there
it’s nothing exotic. It just squeezes the ring pack together. I’m not saying it’s impossible or even impractical. It just compromises the ring pack dimensions and rod/stroke ratio.

The biggest reason Ford will not expand the Coyote is packaging (production car) and cost. At some point in the equation, ROI becomes an issue.

If they made a 'bigger coyote', they'd only be producing what, 20,000 a year? They are building 40k mustangs a year right now, half of them are four cylinders. And, the Mustang is nearing the end of it's production run (at least for this design) and it could have an all-new powertrain in the next revision.

Honestly, the Coyote hasn't really changed since 2018 (blah blah dual throttle bodies). It's starting to get long in the tooth. Meanwhile GM has gone LT1/LT2, LT6, LS6...

Maybe if the 'bigger coyote' also went into the F150 it would win buyers back from the six cylinder trucks, like Dodge did.

So actually, the Gen 4 coyote in the F150 is significantly different then the S650 coyote. First time that has really happened...

The F150 Gen 4 has cylinder deactivation, Godzilla style oil pump, different cylinder heads, etc... The 650 coyote is more of a gen 3.5.

If they put a bigger V8 in the F150 it would likely be the Godzilla based 6.8. There have been rumors for some time about the 6.8 showing up in the F150.

I thought they can only put it in the HD trucks because of CAFE/EPA

CAFE/EPA is no longer an issue with the current administration... The engine is already built, runs on the same PCM hardware as the coyote, same bellhousing bolt pattern, etc... About as close to drop in as you can get.

For folks that are not aware of additional gen4 f150 engine differences: closed deck block like predator, oil pan rail on block have casted in bosses for belt driven oil pump, crank snout different for belt drive, heads are taller and have removable cam trays, tray and cams can be removed from head as an assembly, different intake manifold bolt pattern, collapsible cam followers on VDE cylinders, different timing cover and probably a bunch of other shit.

Do they put the GT3 cars in the 24 hour races?
Yes. The GT3 Mustangs ran the 24 at Lemans since '24. It wasn't the glorious result the Ford GT's had in 2016!! They have been entered in full-season competition ever since.

Also the Dark Horse GT4 5.0 is doing well for a front engine car in the SRO racing series. It’s giving 911’s a good chase.

Those GT4 engines used to be built at the Ford prototype engine facility. Not sure if they still are.

I'm not giving up on ICE though. I still think there's a chance someone will invent a gasoline substitute that will run any existing gasoline engine and have only H2O as the exhaust. (Hey, I can dream! LOL)
Hydrogen works fine as a fuel. I read an article where someone ran a Coyote on it. If it's really important to you, consider converting your car to burn hydrogen.

Gasoline is cheaper and more readily available though. It's a better choice for the foreseeable future.

I truly do think it’s funny how much people on this site hate anything related to electrification.... Separate the politics from the technology... It can be used as a power adder and it has a multitude of mechanical and performance benefits over a standard AWD system.
I prefer engines that make cool sounds vs. whirring noises. And I hate AWD in a car that's supposed to be sporty even more than I hate electrification.

There are vehicles available with electrification all the way from full EV to hybrid mixes. Also AWD vehicles are readily available. There are very few 2 door cars available with large gasoline engines, a manual transmission and rear wheel drive. I don't want my preferred type of car to go away.

If I loved EVs or AWD I would buy something other than a Mustang, and I wouldn't post here. You shouldn't be surprised that people on a Mustang forum want cars to be like a Mustang.
