Usually when I hear revving I think it's one car guy saying, "hi" to another. Something like, "hey, I see that you like cars. I do too." I always like that.

Some people do it to say hello. Others do it in a display of dominance. Some people rev it hoping for a rev back.
You bought a Coyote and don't rev it? You sir are in the minority. This motor was built to literally rev out.

You have to be careful. Once I was parking in an end space and wanted to be as far from the next car as possible. So I asked my date how far I was from the curb. She said 10 inches so I moved over a few inches and SCRAPE. She shrugged and held up her hands and said "don't you remember telling me this much was 10".

Mostly its a greeting as others have said. Also, some people just want to hear our badass sounding cars. Was in rush hour traffic and a 370Z (actually sounded nice itself) was revving next to me and I revved back. I will say though that the stang drowned out his car lol.

Swear to God.. there’s this twat that lives in my complex that 2-steps his bolt on 1997 Civic nearly every time he fucking leaves his parking spot.

Yeah, kid a few doors down from me has a Camaro RS with an aftermarket exhaust. It's LOUD and sounds like shit! Every time he heads out, he has to let everyone within a 6 block radius know he is leaving.....I always make sure when i drive past that house that I am in track mode and if arriving home, down shift right at his house, or if I'm leaving, give it just a little throttle, to let him know, "this is what a real engine sounds like" I'm not a rever, but every now and then you have to have a little fun..............

I noticed whenever another car passes by be it a Mustang or another sports car they rev their car. Is that a what’s up or are they flexing? I just don’t get it.

Cause they want to ? Or they think your car is so frigging cool it makes the right foot hammer the loud peddle.

I've always thought it was a guy trying to get you to race but after all the comments on here I'll have to keep an open mind. Also I only rev the engine when I come home and my daughter is playing outside. She loves the sound of a good engine and my coyote seems to be her favorite.... good taste.
