I have a 2015 Mustang Gt with a Whipple Supercharger stage 2. Have been in the car for less that 9 thousand miles. I bought it in Sept. 2020 never abuse or race my car and the shaft just broke. Is this ever happend to any of you?

That's a bummer, but part of the deal when buying an 8 year old car.

I'd be contacting the manufacturer to figure out the easiest way to get that repaired. Maybe they have a service to re-build it.

I bought the car brand new in 2015, in 2020 decided to update it with the supercharger also bought it brand new. So far I just have around 34,000 miles in this car and less that 9,000 with the supercharger. Whipple said that is no guarantee because is been more than a year since I bought it.

That SUUUUUCKS. That being said, it shouldn't be too hard to service it for someone that does that type of work I would think. Jokerz has a good reputation doing porting and rebuilding. I would talk with them about possible causes. Looking at it, it had to be a hell of a side load.

Looking at how that failed, the shaft cracked at some point quite a while before failing.

When you contacted Whipple, did you show them the pictures? They obviously won't fix it for free now, but maybe they'd be willing to extend some sort of goodwill to you i.e., they provide the parts and you pay labor to have it fixed.

I called, the lady that talked to me she told me to send an email. I did send the email and add the pictures. I asked if they can call me so I don't have to keep waiting for answers in the email, and they said that they do not do calls. They said that rebuilding the blower starts at 1,850.00 and the intel is 650.00.

I sent the pictures and explained that the car never been race. And the rebuild will start at 1850.00

I’d try and disassemble it myself before paying $1800. It looks like you need to remove the snap ring from the blower and press the shaft out.

See if Whipple will meet you half way on the cost of a new shaft and reverse the procedure to install it.

I'd just have it rebuilt aftermarket and ported at the same time. 1800 is a lot to pay for a nearly new blower, next time get a bigger belt.

How or why is there rust around 70% of the break with what looks like 30% holding the pulley on? That looks like its been that way for a long time.
Metal oxidation will happen if that part is exposed any bit. I don't think that is part of the problem. It looks like surface rust and grease to me. It looks like side load that got this one.

Looks like a material defect in the metal shaft that eventually let go. That's a very clean break.

What does the front side of the pulley look like - as to how the broken shaft can be removed from the pulley? Is it pressed into the pulley?

I don't think a DIY fix is going to be as simple as getting snap ring pliers, removing the snap ring - then having to either pull the bearing out of the snout or being able to gain access to the shaft from the interior of the head unit.

I told them that. They wont accept that came defective.
Of course, they will never admit it's their part is defective and especially it been more than a year. some after markets parts don't even come with any warrantee.

it's sucks, but I don't think you going to get them to do anything unless you willing to pay them. I would ask them to give you a discount and hope for the best.

What ended up happening with this situation? Did Whipple do you right? I know of another person this same thing happened to recently.
