Yep exactly what mine did... top of 4th boom, 1st gear limp mode only... damnit
Bummer :( seems a lot of folks have taken the 6r80 way past my luck. Mine did it first time logging at 15psi.

If you're comfortable removing your trans then breaking down the trans and swapping in upgraded pieces will be easy.

What all is needed tool wise to remove the shaft? I,ve heard specials tools are required but I've never been inside my trans only removed it lol..

I replaced mine in my garage and no special tools were needed.

I replaced mine in my garage and no special tools were needed.
Would you say the average joe (myself) that has worked on cars for years and done several blower and turbo kit installs on these cars could tackle this?

That's exactly what I am and it was not too bad. Watch all the videos you can on YouTube, take a ton of pics with your phone and take your time. I put plastic down on my work bench so it was nice and clean and kept all the trans fluid from getting all over everything. It was my first time in a transmission and it honestly wasn't that bad.

You'll need a gauge to measure the clutch pack clearance is all. That's the only thing that'd be different than your normal tools
