So, just so I'm up to date, the initial tune that you guys send out, you can go down to a 3.625" and the tune will sense and compensate?

I'm really hoping I make advancement in March so I can get a Whipple!!

Dustin will the ten rib pulley system work with a 3.25 pulley? Also will the 72lb injectors with a 340 pump and BAP work for that size?

I'm looking forward to getting my car back from Hillbank with the 10 rib belt system, 3.625 pulley and BAP added. Since I'm out here in CA I have started using the VP Racing Octanium based off a highly recommended source (Whi****) ;). Hopefully I'll be able to experience some of the extra power you guys running 93 octane experience

Yes, that same source mentioned this to me as well. I will have to get some to try on top of the 93 octane in my parts. It should prove to be fun :headbang:

SC_Ruby Do you have headers?

3.625 pulley isn't always recommended without headers.

Hi Jason, No I don't have headers and wasn't aware of the issue with the 3.625 pulley without them. Maybe Whipple SC can chime in if it will be OK?

I have the 3.625 no headers

sonic Thanks! I was looking to see if any other Whipple builds had the 3.625 pulley. I take it you haven't experienced any issue?

3.625" works on all motors with 93 or higher octane, on 91 it's pushing it. 91 octane is more sensitive to cylinder pressure therefore one should be more cautious with boost. Our test car runs a 3.50" with VP octane booster.

In general all limitations are octane. Run ms109 and put a 3.25" pulley on it and hold on.

The reason some have more room with headers is that it lowers back pressure, therefore cylinder pressure and flow change. This can normally be seen in a drop in boost as the stock exhaust can limit airflow out the exhaust valves. Normal LT lower boost .5 and sometimes up to 1.0psi. Therefore the power gained is changing pulley and getting boost back up or increasing airflow into the cylinder.

If one is limited on octane, LT can help lower EGT by limiting back pressure android allowing more flow/pressure in the cylinder.

Whipple SC Thank you very much for the detailed explaination. I run 91 oct however I am now using the VP Racing octanium with every tank and I have the Bassani 3" catback so hopefully that will be a workable combo. If you still feel this combo is still pushing it then I'm open to headers? Thanks for your awesome support and INCREDIBLE product :headbang:
