I have a few questions about the Whipple tuning and their flare software. On the configuration tab, there is something called Flight Control and in reading the documentation, it seems this will give me the ability to 'de-tune' the power by gear. Is that accurate? Have any of you played with Flight Control? Any advice or counsel?
I may need to 'de-tune' my car a bit. Atleast in 1st and 2nd gear. I get it back from the installer in about an hour. The installer builds trackday and SCCA mustangs, nearly exclusively. He says my car now makes too much power!! In his test drive today, he spun the tires and lost traction in EVERY gear.
Spec on the car:
2017 GT 5.0 w/ PP (2100 miles on the car)
Eibach Proline Spring Kit
25/23mm wheel spacers on stock PP wheels and tires
Whipple Stage2 Gen3 with Whipple base tune and no additional Whipple add-ons.
Thermal R&D Cat-back exhaust
I ordered new wheels, 20x10 (front) and 20x11 (rear). The wheels have arrived. I think I am going to go with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports or Sport Cup 2. 305 rear and 285 front.
I plan to do spirited mountain road driving and occasional trackdays, road course not drag racing.
What other thoughts to gain traction?
