For the FC software did you have to download it to a website or when you plug the flare tool to the lap top does it automatically install the software. Sorry Im trying to get ahead as well. Mine should be here, weekend the latest. Will be sending it to my buddies shop and might not have wifi to update the software and wanna be able to do it right when Im home. Sorry for newbie question.

Thanks
You need to d/l it. Type the link from the pic and it will download the 1.85 software that you will need to have for the OBD reader that comes with the kit.

It's going well so far. Two full days of working on it and back at it tomorrow. I'm almost done and should be by the afternoon. It's quite a bit tighter with all the hose stuff and keeping it clear of the belt. I'm exhausted but enjoying it.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but can someone tell me what sort of USB cable you use to hook up to the OBD2 port? Thanks!

It should be a USB to Mini-b (5-pin). Take the OBD to Radio Shack or any store that sells cables and match it to be sure.

Thanks but where does the actual OBD2 part come from? Is it part of the Whipple kit? I'm looking for one that can write/read my car but I was reading it has to be J2534 or something like that. Thanks!

The one you need for programming the car comes with the kit cable and all.

There is no specific brand to the cable. You can use any brand but they do ship one to you. It's the canelope OBD reader/programmer you really need and that comes from Whipple only.
