Mind you, I was originally quoted an Oct/Nov build with delivery in Feb'ish.

I think the deleted colours being brought forward probably helped my order even though it was not one of them.

Weird - the discontinued colours were blamed for _delaying_ my (Black) order - original order got bumped forwards by a couple of months, and then went back those two months, and I got a few more weeks to a month on top of that because of the colours.

On the "plus" side, my discontinued colour (CO) order was bumped forwards dramatically - 4-5 months. To the point that two orders 6 months apart are ending up arriving 2 weeks apart!

All anyone should get from any of this is that there is little consistency across orders. The expectation should be 15 months and anything less seen as a bonus!

^^^^ I agree with Scott. I just received my Window Sticker today, and it shows my blend date as 1 month further delay. I was advised by Ford AU only 2 weeks ago that my build date was 8th August, my actual blend date from the Window Sticker is 8th Sept (1 day short of 1 year from order). I will be almost exactly 15 months start to finish if all goes well.

The moral of this story is to choose a colour you think will be discontinued in 6 months time!

I ordered mine on Dec 3 15 (2 days after the price rise....) in Deep Impact Blue.

Now have a Lighting blue one coming due to the discontinuation of DIB.
It didnt speed up my order too much, I got my NSC about a month ago and just got my vin today. No allocated build date yet but it should be August and Nov/Dec delivery.

My dealer called me in june and said you cant have deep impact blue anymore so i needed to choose another one.

Really would have preferred to keep deep impact blue...

From what I've seen, Lightning isn't too different to DIB - its probably a bit duller and more purple than DIB, but a better looking choice than Grabber IMHO...

I'd go so far as to say Grabber could be the first colour to look _bad_ on the new Mustang.

Funny, they just switched all the Black orders without consultation - I guess it was just a name change though, not a colour change (Absolute become Shadow).

I changed colour for the same reason as "xcuzme" - Deep Impact was discontinued and I HAD to pic another colour. I tried hard to keep with DIB but they would NOT come to the party. I don't mind the Lightning Blue at all but would have still preferred DIB. Every picture I look at shows the Lightning Blue a different shade/s so will just have to wait now to see it in the flesh. I will be happy with it when it arrives anyway regardless - so long as the paint job is excellent and shiny.

Grabber Blue would NEVER be on my list - I think it looks good on the Focus but complete crap on the Mustang - only MY taste anyway.
