I addition to the promos, Has anyone noticed the insane insurance premium increases on V8 cars?

I’m up for renewal in June so we’ll see what that looks like. When I traded in my 2016 V6 for my 2022 GT in September 2022, my premium went up $8/month 🤷‍♂️

0% on a 22' is a great deal (depending on the build). I'd jump on it, if I hadn't already purchased my S550s.

Yea if I had known I would have just waited to buy a gt last december instead of this new eco lol. Thought an ecoboost would be enough for me coming from a 2013 civic but I've got a need for speed now. No regrets though, learned a ton with my first sporty car and now I have all the tools and knowledge for my future GT :)

I would hope you don’t need an 850+ credit score to qualify, as 850 is a perfect score lol, don’t know how you can get much higher than that. You definitely need a good score, I don’t think they publish that info because it’s based on more than the score itself. Things like debt to income ratio and other credit history. For instance, I had a much better credit score than the average 22 year old, yet because of my limited credit history I wasn’t able to get the most amazing loan rate, oh well. As far as 0% events, I don’t know when it may happen again. As others have mentioned, I would imagine if those promos are going to happen it will be now or soon, as dealers will want to be getting rid of the S550’s to make room for the next gen, that would be your best bet if you want an S550. If you’re looking for the S650 it’s a lot harder to say. It really depends on if Ford can produce enough of them to supply dealers and if they start to sit there unsold, then it may be more likely. You could talk to local dealers and see if they have heard anything on future promos though.

LOL yea my bad about the credit score. I'm fine waiting until the end of this year to save up the cash for a new or lightly used 22+, but if I can snag 0% apr right now that's a no brainer

Since I just got my car last October and it’s the first time I’ve had my own insurance policy, I kind of started in the middle of already high prices and have no baseline to really compare to. My policy is for 6 months at a time, and when I signed up I got a few extra discounts for it being a new policy. The next 6 months are definitely a bit more as I lost those new policy discounts, but I’ll have to really see the difference once it renews again. I have a lot of things against me as I’m pretty young, a male, I was involved in an accident about a year and a half ago, and the car itself. Needless to say, the insurance is definitely not cheap. It’s especially painful when I realize my monthly insurance payment is more than my monthly payments were for my ecoboost:(

Sorry. Hope it works out for you. Great thing about being young. Whatever happens you’ll have plenty of time to fix it.
The world is pushing hard against V8 cars these days and the higher % interest rates aren’t helping. Reading average monthly payments are close to $1K per month on a new vehicle! Who’s gonna afford that?
The 0% is as it always was. A tool used to to promote specific vehicles and increase sales.

I don't recall ever seeing 0% on Mustangs (at lease in Canada) because Ford knows they don't really need to incentivize them.

I got 2.49% from Ford Credit last spring, and that was good enough for me.

Yes, one could complain about cost, and while I don’t particularly enjoy paying more than I feel like it should cost for the car and insurance and everything, I’m happy to do it for the enjoyment it brings. That’s why I don’t complain about it, I mean it was my own decision and a goal that I had been working towards for a while, the costs just come with the territory. Exactly, in a world that wants to eliminate the V8 and gas powered cars in general, I’m very proud to own one. I hope they never are truly gone, and my feeling is that electric will come and go, it just doesn’t seem sustainable, but if that ever happens someday I’m happy I’m able to have this experience now while I can and wouldn’t trade it for anything.

0% means you paid the interest up front. I'd rather 4%, and pay the interest over time, meaning I win when I pay the car off 6 months, or a year in.
I dont follow. If your sales price is 50k. And you have a choice of 0% for 36 months, how exactly are you coming out ahead paying 4% interest on 50k for even 1 month, let alone 6?

Yep, it's the exact opposite. At 0% I want to pay you back as slowly as possible and keep my money somewhere else earning interest.
