I discovered inside lips on my driver side carbon fiber wheels had some damage, rear one was more just small edge ( just needed epoxy) and left front had deformed and crack damaged . It’s just been repaired by Spyder Composites : it was $600 +117 Shipping to north Idaho. The wheels are stiffer and stronger I read then Alloys. So I’m Suggesting all of you with carbon fiber wheels don’t fear as they are fully repairable and it’s not that expensive to run the lightest best wheels available .

A friend of mine moved to Hayden a few years ago.
You’re a lucky may.

Turn around time is VERY slow.
I am trying to find my receipt for when I shipped it from UPS to them but I believe it was about two weeks ago and should be shipped out hopefully today so I would say that on the long side maybe the turnaround is three weeks from shipping repair to back to you? Through last year I was able to accomplish my second set of carbon fiber‘s ( State Farm thank you) one for the street and one for the track so if one gets sent out I will always have a back up.

how it got damaged? Not sure 🤔 as the damage was inside the left side . I did the first drives only on road I had “ RSOP”ed. And didn’t have any moments of “ 🤦‍♂️ oh no . There’s always a possibility that it was that way when I bought it with 7350 miles on it . PS RSOP= I was a
US Army artillery sergeant so that means reconnaissance and selection of a position.

Maybe the prior owner had the tires replaced and it was damaged by a tire changing machine? Not sure if SC2s would last 7k miles.

I haven't had such luck two times around. More like months (pleural) for each wheel I sent.

he had replaced a tire before I bought it ; I’m assuming Ford had new tires on it at 4700 miles when they sold to the public through the Michigan auction.
It’s a possibility a bump or a pavement hole in the pavement was staggered by the driver and thought he missed it and therefore hit the inside of the rim and left sides??

Man that sucks ; mine is being shipped tomorrow already. He did say that they wait till they get enough wheels to paint to complete their jobs and I thought he said 10 or 12 so you may have been in a slow loop at that time I’m just guessing Tom?

I have no idea, but wheel number 3 is still there since April I think?

Look, Frank is a good guy, but anyone who sends their wheel off better understand that they are most likely going to be in for a long wait

That‘s a terrible reason and completely unacceptable IMHO.
If that is the case, they’re going about it the wrong way.
They need a lesson in painting wheels efficiently and quickly.
Of course if it’s not “paint” I take back everything I said above. 😉
