As someone already said, the performance pack has its own "scoop" assembly, it's not just bare. With that said it's simply not optimal to have nothing, since air already loved bypassing the radiators in these cars as it is. Having no direction from the airflow makes it worse. Your car isn't going to overheat without it and you'll still see better temps especially on the street, but it's something to think about. Fair point on it not fitting with the additional coolers though.That's interesting... I've never heard that before. The Performance Package versions don't have the active grill shutters, so how do they combat the "extra turbulence"?
Practically speaking, the Mishimoto bracket and oil cooler seem to be completely incompatible with the active grill shutter system. Besides removing the blades, the OEM stuff would have to be heavily modified to fit as the Mishimoto bracket bolts into the same place the upper part of the shutter housing mounts to.
I've had 6 track days in 90-100 degree Texas weather and so I have a good baseline on the car's stock cooling capabilities. This weekend should be a good test of the oil cooler setup.
