Another OEM battery.
Was going to go with Optima Red Top but I liked $180 vs $600.
The OEM's aren't great but I suppose they get the job done.
Does Optima even make something that fits? According to their web site, they have nothing.

That could very well be the case.
I had an Optima on a previous car and remembered their price. When I needed a new battery for the Mustang, I Googled an OEM and liked the price before I could search for an Optima.

Those weight-averse FP engineers equipped my 2016 GT350 with a BXT-99T4 (390 CCA) battery that weighs 26.7 pounds. The direct replacement is a Motorcraft BAGM-H4 which has a higher CCA and might weigh a touch more. I suspect the 96-sized batteries are even heavier - the only reference I could find was a 2020 Motorcraft spec sheet that showed a range of 30 to 33 pounds for their various 96 size batteries. Other brands may vary.

I retired from OPTIMA and I also have an S650 that takes the H6. I bought a battery tray for a S650 and put it in my S550 so I could use the OPTIMA DH6 battery. Tray bolts in, but the top where it meets the firewall needs to be trimmed.

I just put a Motorcraft 96R in when my original was dying. OEM batteries for me have lasted longer than any aftermarket battery. Hope this one last as long in my 2018. I can live with a few more pounds, I'm not running at 10 tenths.

Same. My OEM lasted 7 years. I saw no reason to go with anything else.
same here.. they did have a motorcraft OEM with a slightly larger amperage. I have mine on a tender all winter. original lasted 6 years...

Motor craft, great warranty and they will outlast their warranty. All my cars and trucks have motor craft, my snowplow (Expedition) has a motor craft that is eight years old and due to a ground issue has gone dead four times in the winter and has been charged back to life and as long as I disconnect the neg. cable while not in use it still starts every time no matter how cold it is. I am still using it, every week I move it to mow the lawn, and it starts right up. In the winter it can sit for a month without being started and when it snows it will start right up. I know fix the ground issue. I have always made it at least six years on every motor craft battery and will not buy anything else, $160.00 each.

I’m in the market for a GT350. How reliable are the engines? I heard that the engine will blow up.
