I was the same way until I put a Pedalmax on my car. The stock throttle delivery is very smooth, and not easy to get instant 100% throttle. Not that you want that really anyway. With the pedalmax, I can spin my tires now anytime I want, because it'll deliver 100% throttle with less than half the movement of the pedal.I've wondered the same thing. I have a 3.55 A6, and even from a dead stop if I punch it I get no wheel spin. I am also running the DWS06's in 275/35/20. I also live at 4600 ft. elevation, so don't know if this is a contributing factor as well.
