Or is the clutch protection mode that intrusive? I want to induce a little tire spin and slide and it seems that throttle holds me back?

Clutch Protection Mode? Do you mean Traction Control...? Yes, Traction Control can be fairly intrusive. If you want to get aggressive you need to be in Sport Mode (depending on the model you have) or Disable the Traction Control altogether at your own risk.

If you want to launch you must turn off traction control or it sucks.. atleast with the ecoboost. Trust me

I do not have the pp but if you put it in sport mode or track mode im sure it will disable everything that keeps your from spinning, and if not just push the tractio control button like myself rev her up to 2500 and drop the hammer.

Turn traction control off and spin it in circles til your hearts content.
