Great info on here. Thanks for the knowledge. I think for now, before boost, i'll just get the pmas intake and e85 tune. Then a decent drag pack, followed by some suspension mods, and call it a day until I put the ess kit on. Thanks again and have a great new year!

IMO yes.

I run a Reische 170 thermostat and a pp radiator. Car does not overheat (at least on the street). I am talking about multiple back-to-back pulls. You could take the car to 170+ mph and cht won't get past 220. In the winter car could probably get to 170 without even hitting 210 cht. Did lots of back-to-back pulls with a friend the other night and never saw it get much past 190.

This is in big contrast to stock radiator stock thermostat. Car would easily get to 230 cht after some good pulls and I even got it up to 260+ on a long pull (which I don't recommend haha).

If you're getting to 260 degrees, changing the thermostat is not going to fix that

You can get a good Procharger kit and install it yourself. E85 w/tune will add a good amount of power but nothing will "wow" you like boost.

Boost is awesome for sure. My ZL1 is too much fun to drive! I will hopefully get some boost in 24 for the mustang as i seem to drive it more

5.2 or 5.4 stroker, cnc’d heads, custom cams, CJ intake, converter, full exhaust.

Here’s is a couple parts Im thinking of ordering:
•Steeda cai (closed boxes version)
•throttle body (87mm)
•e85 tune

What do yall think? Is this a decent setup until boost is applied or should I skip anything?

I have done everything LTH by 2m Fabrication no cats, HPipe,87mm throttle body, and steeda closed box, if you have a gen 2 you will need to change your injectors to run E85 if you go with the steeda CAI, but if you go with JLT you will be fine, the steeda and the 87mm is too much air for stock gen 2 injectors, BTW Rob Shoemaker tuned it

The TB won't do jack unless you add the GT350 or Mach 1 manifold.

The Steeda CAI doesn't play well with E85 tunes.

E85 tune is best bang for the dollar.

If it's a gen 2 you will need bigger Injectors with a steeda as per @the_ tunemaker Rob Shoemaker
