In 2 weeks from today I'm hailing my car to Ohio to get worked on. I decided to stay N/A. I'm having kooks catted LT's,lu47 injectors,CJ IM,twin 65's,PMAS,stage 3 comp cams,OPG/CS,ATI damper, and Lund tune with nguage. On the trans I'm having McLeod billet flywheel,RST clutch, braided clutch line, and short throw installed. My question is about reliability, how much reliability am I sacrificing for all this? I know that's the risk you take when you do any mods but trying to see what you guys think. I DO NOT DD my car. Only drive it on the weekends and on road trips. The road trips part is what I'm more concerned with. My build will be almost the same as Evil5.0 and his is doing great so far. A little background, my car is a 17 pp 4K miles, with suspension mods and a corsa sport catback and some visual mods. Thanks for the info!

As long as everything is installed correctly, with that Lund tune you should not have any problems on any kind of trip!

Reduced reliability would be either from (1) improper installation and break-in or (2) treating the car like it's invincible afterwards with all the extra power. Properly installed, I don't see why reliability would be significantly reduced. I would personally add valve springs to that list, if they aren't already there, just to avoid valve flutter.

That's what I was hoping to hear. I'm VERY confident in the outfit that's doing the install, I guess I just needed some reassurance before I dropped the money.

the 525whp makes a nice drama free build that sounds awefully good with cs3 cams and cj intake. Its not a very complicated setup but obviously works well together.

I'll start a build thread when I get it back. Should be the weekend of august 26th when I pick it up. And I'm going to drive it instead of trailering the 6 1/2 hours home. So I'll be pretty aquatinted with it by the time I get home so I'll have some good feedback for the forum by then

Reliability problems shouldn't even be a factor. With 4 valves/ cyl, these motors do not need extreme lift which strains valve train typical of pushrod engines. I bet these high hp NV deals can live to 200k, if they are not living its life at 8k all the time.

It definitely won't live at 8k. It'll see it once in a while but not excessively

sure. I haven't really kept track of it very well but including the install I'll be around 10k give or take a few hundred

I'm very interested in the end results to see how they compare to others with same setup.
