I'd recommend spending a little bit extra, the vibration from cheaper machines will make you hate using it.Thanks for all the comments and help. I may end up getting a polisher, probably Bauer, not necessarily for this, but for future ambitions of a minor paint correction. Can someone recommend the type of machine I should look for, DA, orbital? Specific Bauer model would be great. Thanks again!
Just so you know, DA (Dual Action) is the same as Orbital or Random Orbital. This is the best type for a beginner.
I would ignore rotary and forced rotation/gear driven as the learning curve is extremely steep and way more aggressive if not used with experienced hands. I tried a 5-inch rotary last year for the first time and absolutely hated it, the machine acts like it wants to fight you the whole way.
