Sucky news!!! The motor is opened up and the dealer has contacted Ford/FP. A team is coming out to inspect the engine. Its going to be a while!
I am stopping by the dealer today to look at the work that has been done thus far. : (

Went to the dealer on Friday and went straight to my car in the maintenance bay. The hood was open, that was it. I asked what had been done, run the scan tool and that is all. Apparently, this is the first P0015 on a voodoo and the dealer had to contact Ford. Ford has sent a team to inspect the engine. I am meeting the Ford Rep at the dealer when he/she arrives.

Either way the car is going to get fixed. They are just bringing in those qualified to do the forensics. At this point all you can do is just relax and wait.

P0015 OBD2 CEL was triggered by a failed exhaust cam phaser. Parts are on order and maybe I will get my car back by Friday.

Had a good conversation with a former Ford MT. I consulted him about the code ans symptoms. He he made the determination of the exhaust cam phaser failure one hour before the Ford dealership called me. He mentioned that the sensors themselves almost never go bad so if you have a p0015 code in the future rest assured it's an exhaust phaser cam

Glad to hear. I ran mine hard as intended at a HPDE event recently. Five 20 min sessions with no issues or oil usage singing 8,000+ RPM in all its' glory. Very happy to hear the reliability of the FPC has actually been quite good. :ford:

Cool. It was either that or the reluctor that's presses onto the back of the camshaft itself. Both require some teardown but should be doable in short order.

Will more than the valve cover need removal? I know on single cams Ford has a special tool to lock the chain in place. is that not the case for DOHC motors???

stopped by the dealer to check on my baby. She is up on the lift, valve cover timing cover and all associated components. Due to the limited amount of space for removing the exhaust cam phaser in the head, the timing belt cover had to come off. So all the required gaskets will be replaced to include an oil change. Also while the cover is off, further inspection of the timing will be completed. I was told I might possibly have my car back on Friday afternoon. So, realistically I think Monday for sure, unless, they run into problem! DUN, DUN, DUNNNNNNNN!

My dealer is being very careful as this is the first GT350 they have had to open up. They reassured me that it is a fairly routine task. But because it is the first time they have performed it on this engine, they are taking their time. I'm all for that! Quality not time when it comes to maintenance. I left very satisfied this visit. Shook The Service Managers hand and back to work I went.
