The more I think about this, the more it's logical that saying a fully dressed crate engine won't be made going forward is MUCH different than OEM ford stopping building short and/or long blocks for warranty purposes.

You’re probably spot on there. I think we all read that they’re selling off the engines and just assume they leave nothing behind (which is likely an incorrect assumption)

what were historical solutions? This is wild…
1996-99 Taurus SHO comes to mind. They ran out of engines and basically told people tough luck. They refunded your warranty cost and sent you on your way.

Now Ford was much different back then. I suspect they have a decent stockpile of engines this time (plus the voodoo doesn't blow up that often).

Is that how-to over on TMO?
Look up the gen2 engine harness in the service manual, it shows the injector and coil pinouts for gt350 and coyote. There are a few other pins to swap I think.

This might be a silly question, but why the gen 2 harness as opposed to the gen 1?

Does anyone have an idea about when these engines were manufactured? The part number indicates the earlier version, but there is some contradiction in the description vs what the part number indicates.

Hey friend … long time !
Could you just use a GT 350 engine harness with a Gen 2 control pack ?

I like to disassemble things.
Ford Parts and Service currently shows 63 GT350 engine assemblies on backorder.

Question is, how much would it cost if you piece together this engine with upgraded internals? Other than paying 20K for a stock engine?

much less is my estimate .
level 2 RPG short block is $9600; Level 3 $12,600
New heads are about $5k
Cams and rest of the valve train / and other stuff to complete the engine will be less than $5k .
So for $20K you can get a much better engine.

I keep a spare RPG level 3 long block with upgraded valve springs / head studs that cost me less but I did start with a stock long block .
