You are correct 9.50 second street car is no joke but it will take more than any supercharger kit do accomplish those goals.
Stangemode said he spent $25,000 on parts plus labor to run those times.
Not necessarily. Ive been quicker on a stock engine with the smallest blower in the world. With that being said, any auto s550 on e85 can run that with any blower. Just need to keep tweaking and stay focused on optimizing.

Most make a few passes and assume they have reached the cars potential, and then change the combination. Then start all over.

I just want it to be fun to drive and reliable, been talking to Paul at VMP via email and he suggested OPG and Headers. I'm going to do a driveshaft as well. They only do catted headers so I guess I'll need to question the longevity of the cats. I wanna do it right, the car isnt a DD so Im not putting a ton of miles on it. I'll never take it to a drag strip either so its more about the smile factor for me.

They only tune their sc for catted long tubes? Or they only sell catted long tubes as an addon to their sc? Just curious on that comment.

I'm pretty sure VMP will not do catless headers or anything that goes against proper emissions. SO it would only have to be catted headers.

My personal opinion. It's a great improvement over the previous generations with the valley intercooler. Then again, all the new generations with it flipped (and bigger intercoolers) have jumped.

The entire point of a roots over a twin screw was price. Roots blowers are cheaper to manufacture because the tolerances and poly seals make it simpler.

If a roots blower of comparable displacement is the same price as a twin screw, it kinda defeats the whole distinction. Roots blowers are less efficient and create more heat (that TS).

I think the whole TVS crowd has continually pushed their price point up to the area of TS because the market is willing to pay more and more.

Imagine if a fiberglass or plastic hood cost the same price as a carbon fiber hood? what would be the point? Why would you pay the same amount of money for a lesser design?

I think the Odin is a great blower, I just don't think the price point makes sense, when you can have a better whipple for the same price, maybe even cheaper.

I have so been thinking about this set up as well. Just wish there was more data to know of any potential gremlins with the set up. I know there are a huge amount of whipple mustangs out there, so naturally the feedback (negative or otherwise) will be more prevalent. Just not sure if the amount of horror stories and issues is due to an inherently flawed set up or is it the better one and the majority are actually working as intended.

Thats exactly why I started this thread, I will say I havent found customer service issues with VMP to be a glaring issue like it seems to be with Whipple. VMP is also a 3 hour drive from my house and they are installing and tuning their own product which should produce better results in my opinion.

I've had good experience with Whipple. But without their tune. Seems like most of the CS issues I've read are with tune issues. And I know a lot of happy whipple owners. I think VMP is a great company and they have a very rock solid reputation. I think their Gen3R is a very good value (because of it's price point). But with the "Odin" you're in the price range of a new whipple 3.0 Gen 5. Roots blowers have come a long way, but the whole point of getting a roots over a twin screw was value. If they're the same price and the roots is slightly smaller, it doesn't make much sense to me.

But I can see if you're going to go with the full works and a plan to use them as a tuner where there'd be unrecognized value.

Don’t run their tune. 9.50 isn’t cake. But it’s doable. Especially on a big blower like a 2.9 or 3.0

I agree within you on the tune, but if any member thinks that they are going to go and buy a supercharger kit and aftermarket tune and run 9.50 without supporting mods is not going to happen.

Who said that was a thing?

You can’t buy any power adder and expect it to run 9.50s without supporting mods. ANY
