Since I went with the 315/50 R17 ET Street R, there has been some rubbing problems that I never really had on the Mach 1.

On my 2021 Mach 1, the tire and wheel combo fit nearly perfect with no modifications. On this 2022 Mach 1 with HP, the car is lower and that is a problem.

Therefore, I started to research Drag springs and to my dismay, all of them seems to lower the vehicle.

Then I asked the question to my self. If they only seem to go up on the spring rates and lower the car by shortening the spring; can I find a Ford stock ride height spring with similar rates?

Mach 1 HP spring rates: front 211 rear 742 lb/in

Mach 1 spring rates: front 194 rear 657 lb/in

GT350 spring rates: front 211 rear 857 lb/in

GT350R spring rates: front 240 rear 917 lb/in

GT500 spring rates: front 251 rear 885 lb/in

GT500 spring rates: front 268 rear 885 lb/in
Carbon Fiber Track Pack (CFTP)

BMR spring rates: front 250 rear 980 lb/in

Steeda spring rates: front 150 rear 800 lb/in

So, I just bought some GT500 rear springs! They will raise the car up and have a higher spring rate than the Steeda Magnaride springs and a less than the BMR Drag springs.

Add rear spring spacers to raise the rear.

This is what I did on my Bullitt which has BMR Magneride drag springs.

I used Steeda spacers (1/4”). If memory serves me correctly, whatever the thickness of the spacer is, they will raise the body by double that amount.

Indeed, that was the next thing I was gonna bring up. I did buy them right out the gate.

Since I got the full audio installation with the heavy JL Audio sub box which is 35lbs, plus a 5 channel JL Amp, and the Water/Meth container/pump.

I did install the GT500 springs and spacers for good measure. Now, time for wheel alignment!

What wheel and tire did you choose for you drag pack? Sizes?

I have Forgestar D5 17X10 beadlocks on the rear and 18X5 front runners. I initially had Mickey Thompson 305/45-17 ET Street R radials and ET radials on the front. Now I have Hoosier 28X11.50-17 bias ply QTPs on the rear and bias ply fronts. The QTPs fill up the rear wheel wells better than the ET Streets did.

How did the stability at higher speeds feel on the Quick Time Pro’s; assuming your doing a 1/4 mile run?

Yes, 1/4 mile run. The QTPs were very stable at higher speeds. The highest mph I’ve seen on mine was 122.95.

I tried QTP at one point. Determined that about 150 the s550 is too heavy for that tire. A tube would help bit not by much. 60ft on a radial was better on my setup as well. I know you have a stick shift so bias ply makes sense. Give the car what it wants, that's what I always say.

Details on your setup? Power adder, Drag pack, ect.

This is how the Mach 1 currently sits with the GT500 springs and 1/4 Steeda spring spacers.

You can tell the alignment is off. Both rear wheels seem to have too much negative camber. Also, the right rear wheel seems to have more negative camber than the left wheel.

Going to get it fixed this week.
