It's indicative of what would happen on the street if a manual, 5.0 mustang pulled up to a base, automatic, 4cyl turbo cayman. The cayman will clearly drag the mustangs ass from a stop or a roll.

1400 and 1800 kg is like lightweight champion vs heavy weight GT4 with 420 hp has same power on the wheels as Mach 1 with 400 kg less...

Would have also expected a 3,000 rpm launch from the Mustang too. One thing I wish Ford would have done is raised the redline on the Mach 1 to 7600. It's hard to really take advantage of the GT350 manifold without revving it out. It will take a tune to fix it.

It was real nice having an 8200 hard redline and a 7800 soft redline on my 17 GT. The 18 manifold ran out of steam around 7600 though. The GT350 manifold keeps pulling higher than that.

It says that the 10r80 is superior to the manual. But the video says if you have a manual 5.0, pull over and let the cayman pass LOL

Personally would rather have the cayman over the mach1 any day of the week. No offense to the mach1 crew.

i agree. i can't stand how exotics sound. ferrari, porsche, etc
usually when i hear people say how good they sound i wonder if they are saying it because they think they are supposed to. an american v8 sounds 10x better
i'll take the slower mach 1 all day.

Makes you wonder if Ford should sell aftermarket light weight parts. I mean the Abarth 695 with its tiny bonnet now has an aluminium one, to save weight! hah! Imagine if the Mustang bonnet was light weight, I'm sure that would save 100KG right there. It weighs a bloody a ton!

But yeah, I'm not a fan of Porsche. Doesn't do it for me at all. I'd rather be slower in a nicer sounding car.

I think the reviewer was wearing his bonnet too tightly.
