Picked it up Thursday. FPRS people were awesome, as is the car.

To me, the car is worth every penny.

That is the car I drove last July. I talked to several of the mechanics. The cars are all meticulously maintained. If I could have made up an excuse to buy one I definitely would have without any qualms.

Curious on the brake fluid reservoir head shield kit

I bought the #1 car. Picture attached. I pick it up in a few weeks.

Question: What are the "Mach1 hats"?

Todd can you confirm if such heat shield exists in the engine bay? Also kind of curious what their custom alignment spec was for these cars. Very Jealous!

I bought 21. I would have preferred a manual, but this one came up and I decided I could live with an Automatic. My other car is a stick.

That’s the one I drove. Good memories, enjoy it.

Thanks. It’s been fun so far.

way too much for how those cars have been thrashed nearly every single mile on them.
Exactly. Most of the people who attend these schools are not the type of people who possess any special abilities....these cars are thrashed beyond imagination, and not in a good way. Lol

Cheaper and more reliable to buy a slightly used one that's certified pre-owned.

My experience has been inexperienced drivers don't go fast, run wheels up curbs, or spin off. Just go to a track weekend and you can watch this unfold. It's full throttle to the corner, come to damn near stopped, turn slowly, then point and squirt again.

Depends on the driver. I've attended more
HPDE and SCCA events than I can count. In my experience, the fast guys have mechanical sympathy, whereas newbies don't. Over revving, placing cars where they shouldn't be, destroying transmissions. Don't even need to go to a driving school to see this, just go to a go kart track where they rent karts. My 125cc tag shifter kart has no barrier protection and I've ever needed to make a repair from a practice day. But have you seen how rental karts are treated? 99% of people who come in there drive worse than a toddler. Imagine what happens when these people get on a race track...of course they have an instructor yelling in their ear the whole time. But in solo groups for SCCA? It's embarrassing.

I do know from attending the track attack, FP had people on the track spectating, and if you needed coaching or you were screwing up, it was blasted on the radio. It was also mentioned you were the responsible party, if you wrecked or damaged it. Not saying these cars were not abused at some point, but they were inspected and refueled before every session.

The day 2 GT cars, on the other hand were rode hard and put up wet. Two cars had to be replaced because of mechanical issues throughout the day.
