Hi everyone, I ordered the Loki kit for my 2017 mustang GT with PP. should be here in the next few weeks. Now my question is it seems on here that a lot of people like VMPs superchargers but don’t necessarily use them when it comes to the tune? Why is that? I’m debating whether to use them or go with Lund or even Wengerd performance. Leaning to Lund only because I may be able to get a used Ngauge. Any insight would be appreciated.

They all do the same thing. Nothing wrong with VMP calibrations. Joe is great.

I just installed the VMP Odin kit on my ‘16 GT, and it’s tuned by VMP. With 1 tune revision, the drivability and power are phenomenal. Joe and his team do a great job. *Nothing against Lund, PBD, or Wengerd.

I'm looking into tuning my '20 GT as well and would like to hear what the group thinks about Lund tuning, or going with other tunes. I am looking at putting the Steeda closed cold air intake and the Bullet 87mm throttle body on when I get the tune. Open to thoughts on that too and Thx!
BTW my car is an automatic, has PP1, and BMR suspension upgrades. Also has Steeda axle back, an x-pipe, and a K&N panel filter.

Yeah I got lucky and was able to find a used Ngauge which I have already confirmed with Lund that I won’t have any issues to use. Now I just have to wait for the Loki kit to arrive and then decide if I want to go catless (the shop is recommending).

I used them when I was FBO ported 18 mani NA and they dialed in my 93-E85 tune in with 1-2 revisions. Daily driving was perfect and WOT/roll racing/ shift points were all literally perfect and I was beating hellcats even with my 6r80. I even passed CA smog emissions running FBO and E85 LOL. Switching to FI now and absolutely using them again. You can’t go wrong.

I installed a VMP Odin setup, but had nothing but problems with the VMP tune. After two weeks of having them tell me the problem was with me or the install, I took the car to Daryle Wengerd. He loaded his tune, and the car has been spot on ever since. I was not impressed with the after sale customer service of VMP one bit. Good products, but garbage customer service, in my experience. They didn't even attempt to work with me on the driveability issues I was having. The car was undriveable, yet they kept telling me the logs looked good and that I was causing the lurching and surging from a dead stop. I would get the tune with the supercharger kit and try it. If you have problems with it, don't even waste your time trying to get them to help you........they obviously have more important things to do.

I second this, 3 trips to VMP and was told I was the problem. Wengard tuned my car remotely and runs amazing. The one thing I believe you will see if you dig around is Daryle is phenomenal, responsive and has no negative experiences from customers on here. He's also fixed quite a few VMP tunes.

Wengerd for the win . . . . . and the tune.

I have no experience with VMP.

I think VMP makes some kick ass stuff, so not dogging them. I'm about 20 minutes away from them but they aren't tuning my car. I think they have become so big, they have lost that personalized touch they once had. I was at the track Friday night and was talking to another guy that also lives in Orlando who tried to use VMP recently but instead went with PBD. I think EVERYONE in the industry is greedily stuffing their faces with all the stimulus money and really don't care who they piss off along the way.

I am tuned by PBD and the experience has been... ok.

This is exactly what I wanna do . What kinda numbers are you getting with that kit ..I am on the fence if I should run a root type or a centrifugal ..

I'm at 707 whp and 553 wtq, with an incredibly flat and consistent torque curve throughout the power range. The horsepower basically builds with revs, all the way to redline, just like it would with a centri. Both styles of blower (roots or PD) can get you to these power and torque levels, the difference is that the roots blower will have a more flat torque curve with more torque down low. You can't beat the sound and drama of a centri though! I seriously considered one myself.
